Pete is like J-Mac a lot in the sense that when he feels pressure, he plays his pets and turtles. Remember how Mac kept playing scrubs like Magnan-Grenier and Taormina because those were his guys in Albany? Well Pete regresses back to the guys who were his heroes in 2012 - Sal, Zidlicky, Bernier, Gionta. Those were the guys who stepped up for him three years ago and so that's who he throws his Hail Marys to now.

Part of that was injuries. They had no choice, but to play those guys. Now of course Fayne was in the minors and came midway through the year.

We overachieved so hard at the start, i remember people complaining that we were playing terribly but everyone else was convinced things were fine because of our record. Now we're getting the results we deserve with our level of play and full blown panic has finally set in

Not that we shouldn't be very worried, but i never believed for a minute this was a playoff team even after our hot start.

Wasn't really overacheiving. It was more along the lines of our d-men throwing wristers on net that some how went in. That was the reason for the 3-0 record.

Peter Harrold would have been a godsend on that team

As it is I'm shocked he isn't playing over Larsson now, you know he'd be getting more than 12 minutes if he was here.

Call out the goalie, check.

Take no responsibility for awful player management, check. (How is that Sal-Zid pairing working for ya?)

What are the odds he starts the "average" goaltender, who should not be fatigued, with his back against the wall?

If Cory starts tomorrow that might just be the final straw.

I thought he started the game on the fourth. Pete must have changed his mind. Edit: Yeah you were right my bad.

i don't know what the pregame lineup said, but I'm just saying that Zub's did not play 4th line minutes tonight. If he was "4th line" it was 4th line in name only.

Yes I edited it as you can see in the above quote. Must have been a conversation in the threads that made me think that.

this team is old, the coach sucks and the GM has no idea what he's doing anymore.

I think some people tend to go way to far in blaming Pete DeBoer for everything, but at some point, keeping Salvador-Zidlicky together should be a fireable offense.

And give Cory a day off, already

I was thinking at what point is that pairing broken up because its a hot mess.

And I agree, Cory needs to have a day off tomorrow.

Maybe Deboer was thinking that he would balance the risk taker Zidlicky with the stay at home guy Sal lol. What you end up with is a risky house that has opened the flood gates and is need of a insurance policy.

I DVR'd this disaster. LOL this looks like one of the MacLean specials straight out of the fall of 2010. Come to think of it, so did the last game.

Boston barely showed up and stil won 4-2. I figure we were a couple penalties away from likely giving up 6 or 7. Anybody got Dumbeor's presser? I didn't record over.

I really don't ever wanna hear about how this team has heart and character again. They collapsed like jenga after that third goal. Mentally soft team, and even good old TG made mention of that in one of his tweets.

DeBoer needs to go, and he can take Mike Foligno and his "we went 0 for 1 on the PK" ass with him. Don't give a rats ass if he was behind the top ranked unit last year, when we have less than a 50 percent of killing any penalty we take.

some of the guys said it in the GDT, i dont even like rooting for this team to be honest. aside from the usual guys, there's nobody to even be liked. Sal is the worst captain/defenseman in the league, spare me the 'hes a good guy' crap. he is downright awful at hockey. Zids isnt too far behind. Tootoo sucks. Ryder disappears for 5 games at a time. same with Brunner. Clowe is a useless slug that hopefully will not play here again. Bernier is trash. Zubrus was washed up 2 years ago and he's still on the team for some reason.

just a completely unlikeable team coached by an absolute doofus and put together by a dinosaur who the game has passed by.

clean house.

How far out do you think we have to be to actually be sellers at the deadline? My worry is we'll hang around the pack just enough to waste our time and add another Ruutu. What we need is someone to say "this isn't working" and start over.

We need to jettison the guys with actual value (Jagr, Zidlicky, Brunner, Ryder) that have no place here down the line, be it because they don't fit or they're just old.

That's the thing. As terrible as we've been we're still only 2 points out of 3rd in the division. If this division was any good at all we'd be in it's basement. I'd rather just completely fall out of it than hang around like we've done the last two years before fading down the stretch.

Don't worry about his presser.

What he said was :

"Rabble...Rabble...Rabble....Tough Building......"

And he said those two words....TWICE this time.

It seems that it's the new "YA KNOW", apparently.

He's a ****ing idiot. What building in the NHL isn't tough? I'm sure there's a "tough building" quote in every road loss presser since 11-12.

He says it so much, he'll be saying it after a loss at home pretty soon.
