I'm not really sure why Carrick gets so much love here while Brennan gets the cold shoulder, both have offensive upside but are pretty weak defensively. Carrick gets a hatrick and it's "top 4 Dman! Woohoo!", Brennan scores more goals than any Defenseman in the AHL and it's "Bum! career AHLer!". The shiny new toy gets a pass for being a weak defensman I suppose.

Brennan IS a career AHLer. Its fact. Hes 27 and his career has peaked.

Carrick is 21 and has much better tools for todays NHL. He can skate, for one.
