Someone post that stat porn again!

This is shaping up to be my favourite iteration of the Sens yet. This draft could solidify that.

Imagine we could have another group of legacy players here? A new owner in a few years could breath some life into that hope.
we still need some really talented forwards.

Yes, yes, I know.

But we have one already in BT, and who knows, Bath and Norris could hit their ceilings as well?

Given how well almost everyone has developed, I’ve become over the moon hopeful that our kids will keep developing.

I know it’s not probably, but those two in particular could be top six killers for us.

Two forwards in the top 6ish this year and we could possibly have a top 6, or 9 really, set forever....

Pinto still on the way as well... It just feels like we’re going to have Bath and Norris type guys coming into the AHL every year for the next while....

Formenton!!! Forgot about him.... Jesus...

it's also funny that whenever we play the Habs, their fans on this board get upset that they took Kotkaniemi instead even though Kotkaniemi is still just a young prospect.

I like to consider myself a logical guy. And I try to be honest with myself. And honestly, Brady is probably going to end up as my favourite Senator of all time when its all said and done. Its really only a matter of time at this point.

Hes a special kind of player that we've never had before. Its hard to put it into words, but I guess that it boils down to the fact that hes just a fun player to watch. Hes will be a difference maker for this franchise on so many levels, and his character will help define the next generation Sens. Hes just got it. An energy and personality that pulls all of his teammates (and us) into the battle with him.

Hes weaponized a high hockey IQ and paired it with a bruising body and aggressive style of play thats unique in today's NHL. Kids just cant play this style of game so early without some god given gifts, and some help along the way (an NHL family). And I would bet my left nut that hes going to be beast for us when hes in his prime and playing in big games. Its what hes made for.

Kotkaniemi is likely going to be a swell player someday. But I find it nearly impossible to believe that they wouldnt change their pick if they were given a time machine and a mulligan.

Kotkaniemi being a centerman and the hope that he develops someday into a dominant player is simply not at all worth passing up on a super special player like Brady has already proven to be, or the player that most of us are fairly sure that he's going to become one day in his prime, and with some elite linemates.

His style of play would earn him ungodly heaps of praise from the Montreal hockey world - like Ottawa its mostly smart hockey fans there, just louder and a bit prouder. And if he played the same way, he would be nearly bullet proof from criticism in the most judgmental and cynical hockey market on the planet.

8x8, twin pillars for years to come.

I wanted to add that BT, his buddies, and DJs style of play have us looking like a franchise that may finally be able to stop feeling sorry for ourselves.

McGratton pummeling Domi was a watershed moment, for our team, and I think this is the start of the next phase. We started off weak but skilled, then we over compensated and got super tough and less skilled.

Now I think we’ve settled into a dominant spot where we can lean, swagger, and hound teams around us, and leaves a swath of pissed off teams and fans in our wake, who are all a little envious... just need to crush this draft (lottery).

Good feelings this am for our squad ;)
