Been real Brad. Liked you as a person, and enjoyed the success the team had with you in the line up in the playoffs the last three seasons.

Going to be a challenge to replace a 50 pt 2nd line center, but the legs just weren't there any more.

it was the right move given future implications, but make no mistake, the Rangers do need to replace this player while trying to retain much of the rest of their team. Easy decision, but there is a lot of work to be done since this team is now worse than it was when it played its last game.

As someone who was a fan of bringing him in, this is a disappointing day. The immediate drop off last year made this move inevitable. Best of luck, Mr. Richards.

Seemed like a good guy.

Looked like he was more or less the unofficial captain for the rest of this season, so I'm grateful to him for that, honestly.

The new CBA kind of made this inevitable. I hope he finds a less demanding role somewhere else that he can thrive in. He's still an NHL player.

Thanks for the 3 seasons Brad!

Right move by the team though, will miss his leadership, seemed like a great guy but just contractually he could not stay on this team.

This feels bad because Richards is such a great guy, but there was no other choice. I hope he finds a club that he can thrive in

Gotta agree with this, feeling mostly disappointment. And Richards definitely gave the Rangers a good top-6 center. He was a significant part of the Rangers doing what they did the last 3 years. But his legs dropping out from under him, the new recapture rules, plus the 9-year term made this a necessity.

Best of luck to Brad...well unless he goes to the Pens or Devils.

He was very good for our team until Father Time caught up with him. It's a young mans game, so we need to improve the position with youthful energy. He just hit the lottery, so congrats, Brad! :handclap:
