They were highly regarded prospects and sometimes they don't turn out. It doesn't make them bad trades because the value was fine at the time. Hindsight POVs like this are just bad.
Yeah, not much of an issue with those trades. They were OK at the time.

Just as right as playing Weise.

Thanks for confirming that you think it was the right move to play the far lesser player.

In no world where you are trying to win the cup is playing the lesser player in this situation the right move (assuming health). It is actively stupid to play the lesser roster. This is right up there with "fresh legs". Actively handicapping yourself is a special kind of stupid.

Nice work.

Weise was just as bad, and given offensive zone chances and still gave nothing. He threw the puck into empty space all the time and his 1 goal was an unmissable set up by Panarin from behind the net. He changed nothing from any plugs or in out line up guys they had then.

Though the sad thought is if Panik had shown his flashes a hair sooner they probably dont make the trade for more wingers. But he showed he should play regularly just at the trade time and made the winger crop a big overfilled pile.

Far lesser player LOL.

Fun fact, Mashinter had more points than Weise after Weise was acquired with less ice time and less GP. (regular season)

Weise was better than Mashinter and was not penalized.

I mean if you completely ignore his season production.

If you think Mashinter is close to as good as Weise than you are just a f***ing idiot. Weise is not good but Mashinter was not even an NHL player at his best.

That's why Bowman gets paid the big bucks to make the decisions. As much as I like Bowman, those were terrible mistakes. Both Dano and Pokka barely made a ripple in the NHL. You'd at least think they'd be journeymen (4th liners / 7th DMen). They weren't even good enough to do that for any franchise.

Weise wasted a ton of offensive chances just the puck away. Their role was totally different they weetnt even a 1 for 1 because Weise was so bad he couldnt play with that jruger line and help. Yet Higher up he just produced nothing for 15 games. Weise played with Teuvo more than anyone and dragged him down.

Weise simply hurt more by not being Danualt. Yet Mash was what this team had prior or always and won with. A plug that hardly plays and Kane plays more because. Bolig was that the playoffs just before him.

Not terrible mistakes at all. Not all prospect deals turns out and the value made sense at the time.

Neither D killed the franchise.

Dano is still in the AHl/NHL btw.

Pokka never gained the foot speed and is playing KHL. Nilson is actually in the NHL.
