Pre-Game Talk: Bon Appétit

Rishaug made a good point on the mandate the other day - just when Bouchard is getting confidence and heating up he gets saddled with Broberg who alone sucks enough to relegate that pair to only playing 9-14 mins per game. Like why? Dumb as f*** player deployment, honestly.

Goes back to the fact that we only have 5 d men that can even call themselves NHL players, but still. Broberg is not better than Murray at this point despite Murray also being shit. I have zero idea why we are trying to force him in to the detriment of Bouchard or whichever other d man is unfortunate enough to be paired with him. Never mind a top 4, Holland needs to just get literally any d man that can call themselves an NHL player to bridge the gap on the bottom pair left side.

Back to the same problem as last year where Bouchard and Barrie both need babysitters on their pair with them, except this season Kulak is the only babysitter we have available and he isn’t ideal.

Broberg played very well with Ceci last year for a couple of games when we had injuries. Not sure why we can’t do that and cut back some of Ceci’s minutes while he’s struggling. Also gives Bouchard more minutes as he’s playing well.

This is hands down the best way to handle things at the moment, but it makes too much sense so naturally it probably hasn’t even been considered.

They sooo much need a steady-steady LD. Gavrikov, give that man a suit, and drive him to the aiport, and send a 1st the other way.

I'd agree on Broberg, but Boucharf and Bartie have been playing better as of late. Still not sold on Nuse as a bona fide number 1.

So two 1Bs in Nurse Ceci has to be.
So to compensate, they need one more 1B instead of a 2A.

Bouchard has scored only one of his goals while on the ice with Broberg at the same time which makes sense because most of the time Broberg is on the ice we are getting absolutely rolled on in our own end.

Regardless, point stands that it makes zero sense to play Bouchard 12 minutes a night the moment he starts actually playing with some confidence to build on.
