If we get Callahan + picks for the best player in this franchise's history, MSL is going to be on my most-hated players of all time list. I can't believe this.

We got nothing for the best player in team history Lecavalier.

Callahan would help our abysmal PK and lack of grit. 6x6 isn't ideal but it's not crippling. We have drafted well so the picks can be useful.

That's gotta be the hope. That framework has been in play for a long time, so I bet Y has been able to shop a bit. He also wouldn't have any opposition to trading him within the Metro, which could help.

We know Yzerman has stated before he doesn't want rentals. So if deal is done I have to think either 1 Marty is forcing his hand or 2 Callahan could be re-signed reasonably

Ok. This sucks. There is no way to get around that. No return is enough and the heartbreak is intense. But since it's happening.

Give Stammer the C. Make it his team, his face, his franchise. Flip some picks and a nice prospect for some D and go for the ****er. Make it known that you believe from Vinik on down that this is a playoff team with or without Marty.

Also, it's interesting to note that James Duthie said back in 2009 St. Louis told him he'd like to finish his career in the north east.
