God you guys are brutal. They’re just kids man, signing their first pro contracts. It’s something most of us dream about as kids. No need to bash them, even if you don’t like their hockey skills.
I like you am disgusted by some of the behaviour of some of our posters. You have family's celebrating tonight, moms crying, uncles and cousins that are so proud and then you have comments like the ones we're appauled by......incredible

Do you always in engage in such high stakes gambling? :wg:

Tell us about the time you conned a card dealer in Monaco and how you slipped out of the casino before their goons could get you. :sarcasm:
I'd like to but that's classified.......

I'm not bashing the kid as a person. It's not his fault that the organization is stupid. I mean take the money and run. Good on him for that. But the organization is idiotic for wasting money and time on this bad investment.

Montreal is nowhere near the contract limit for next season. Bitten deserves a look in the AHL, and while I'm not high in Pezzetta, its a good look for the organization to reward the hard work of prospects.

The organization is stupid, I just don't see it here.

I would sign 200+ undrafted over signing Pezzetta. Signing Pezzetta because you drafted him is stupid.

I personnally think that it's fine. AS you know, I hated and still hate the Pezzetta draft pick. Nothing against the players, totally against the way they pick players, as you already know. But at this point, we have no choice. Becuase we are so low on prospects. I prefer seeing what he could do over 1 contract that what Bergevin could bring as a vet who won't do the job. Might as well give the kid a chance to be the plugger he always aspired to be. And we always thought he would. I don't think it will work. It is still a stupid pick. But....what other choices that we have? More UFA NCAA players? Fine with me, I'm all for it....but we are still fine in the contracts that we could give. Same for a few Q or any other UFA out there that will want to play here. I don't think that Pezzetta alone makes us miss a lot of other UFA we could go for. So 1 contract is fine with me. We will probably move on at the end of it but hey....I've been wrong before so you never know.

I'm not saying its smart, just that its not worth getting worked up for. Signing a physical, near PPG 19 year old C in the OHL isn't some tragedy. At the very least, he'd probably be a decent energy guy for Laval.

Also, I'd love to see how far you'd get in that 200 player list, because I suspect you're way off there.

We are at 30 next year including Pezzetta and Bitten. Danault and DLR will surely be signed again for the Pros. So that's 32. Evans should sign, that's 33. It leaves, Carr, Cracknell, Eisenschmid, Fucale, Grégoire, Hemsky, MCcarron, Niemi, Parisi, Rychel, Shaw, Terry, Valiev. Even if you sign them all it means 46. And we all know we won't sign Hemsky, Niemi and a few guys out there. I know I wouldn't sign Eisenchmid, I think we are going to let McCarron walk or trade him, Parisi should walk, same for Logan Shaw, Chris Terry will probably want to move out...That leaves a lot of space for UFA's.

'Cause like ever year, we will also add AHL/ECHL guys not on the contract limit.

Make him an AHL contract offer then. There's literally 0 chance anyone else gives a shit about him.

Well, I'm looking to a follow-up to your Kabana/Romanian story. I'll be waiting, then. :)

Getting back to the thread topic, would it be fair to say that in order of let's say potential for an NHL career, would you guys have them ranked as Evans, Bitten and then Pezzetta, in order?

Push to sign your good free local boys Fortier/Barre-Boulet or other good options in other leagues, so you don't have anymore room for plugs like Pezzetta. Therefore, we don't need to justify those worthless signing with those type of arguments.

And again, 1 signing like that do not and should not refrain signing other better players. I mean....people....I dislike Bergevin with passion....but we are not at 49 contracts spending our last one on Pezzetta here...come on.

We' ve probably signed our enforcer. Which means that we won't have to deal with David Broll or any other old plugs anymore. I'd prefer my plugs to be younger....;)

Yeah, well that could have been done too. But again, we are not close at all to the limit. And they probably liked how he "evolved" offensively and want to give it a 3-year shot.

Let just say that what's puzzling was not signing Bradley last year and signing Pezzetta this year. But those 2 last signings fills what Bergevin told us all along....character.

Not signing Fortier and signing Pezzetta is really dumb.

Well never being interested in anybody in the Q that was worth is was stupid. And other leagues too....I know. But it's pretty clear what they think about the Q right now.

If they were truly thinking, they'd have greater coverage and they'd be poaching other teams' best scouts. Seems to me that some other teams are getting more than with less resources, as per a chart someone posted this year. While Bergevin runs this, we might as well forget about hoping to go in a different direction.

I don't get why give **** about the contract now. Its not like the org. doesn't have enough big **** ups to get worked up about. The team lacks generally lacks prospects and wasn't going to be near the contract limit anytime soon anyways.

Do not disagree as you know already. The overhaul I'd do would be enormous.

He hardly qualifies as a prospect. They've let more talented players go who they have had in training camp or have used draft picks on.

He sucks.

I don't agree with the organization using picks or signing players who don't deserve it.

Yea theres a lot to be pissed about but that doesn't mean another bad move however small shouldn't be talked about.

Can't wait for Bitten to be on a cold streak and hear/read all the "Will Bitten is Snake Bitten" jokes.

That's not going to get old fast...

Eh, I'm just not getting worked up over this. I'm not going to bash an organization showing loyalty to a prospect who works hard to improve when the team doesn't need the contract limit space.
