Ok , I am working on a deal (fhl league) where I could have possibly the second overall pick in the 2005-2006 (for now it is a 2nd) and a 8th overall pick (for me), but beside sidney crosby , I don't know what others big names prospect there is. I have been looking around the internet to search for the eligible 2005-2006 players but I found nothing.

Anybody knows ?

ps : I was thinking to post this in the fhl forums but this board has more person answering , but if it doesn't belong here , just move it.

base on what you said guys , do you think that a deal like Braydon Coburn + Timofei Shiskanov + Colin Hemingway vs 2nd overall pick + 8th overall pick would be good for me , or I would give too much ??

In a keeper league? I'd definitely go for that deal.

Marc Staal is looking damn good as a shoe in for a top 5, simply put, he was way better then his brother at 16, and he'll prolly continue to be better then Eric at 17, the only catch is Marc is a defenseman, and a very solid one at that.

Jack Johnson. I'm hoping the Habs get Johnson next year.

For 2006 Bryan Little looks like he has a head start to be selected # 1.He was
rookie of the year in the OHL as a very young rookie Dec. 1987 DOB and had
a great season.I haven't seen him play but I here he is very skilled.

Knowing that the Rangers will have a high pick next year, I'm almost more excited for this draft than the season.

Do you think Brule will draft ahead of Latendresse come draft time? Personally I don't think so basically due to:

1. The NHL game favours larger players
2. Their offensive stats are roughly equal (at least until you factor in a Q vs WHL 10 or 15% extra scoring
3. +/- stats favour Latendresse even if you compare them only relative to their teammates (Brule's were average while Latendresse lead his team as a rookie)
4. Latendresse is almost half a year youger (5 months)
5. Latendresse was second on his team in hits (behind a defenceman) again as a rookie

That being said Brule was chosen rookie of the year in the CHL(edit: make that WHL whereas Latendresse was not rookie of the year in the Q) and not Latendresse so I think we can assume intangibles (not statistics) made up the difference.

So the question remains; Will Brule still be better a year from now AND by enough to make up the difference in size and age to be drafted ahead of Latendresse?

I think Miika Lahti should be that list also. He make last year 7+7=14 points 35 game in finnish A-junior league. He is something about 6'1 or 6'2 tall and he is only next year eligible finnish forward who is favorite to make finnish U20-championship team. I put him that list somewhere around TOP20 and i think Risto Korhonen should be higher too. Sami-Petteri Sandel is great player too, but idon't think he is first round candidate, first day maybe.
