Seriously, please keep him. He’ll be a great role model on a sinking ship that has $42m tied into 5 aging players for the next 5 years.

At least when he skips out on paying casino markers next time...it won’t be during the middle of the playoffs.
Someone still sounds a tad miffed over last years playoffs
Not a problem

Miffed? No I’m not confused and/or salty over last year’s playoffs.

You however seem to be of the belief that a guy (with character issues) that’s ranked 31st in goals and 84th in points is a top 25 player in the league, when that isn’t remotely accurate.

Maybe if he was a little better you guys wouldn’t be bottom 5 in the league. Well at least you’ll get a high pick this year that may help you turn it around. Oh wait...

Maybe you guys can advance further into the playoffs with the Sharks looking like they'll miss the playoffs for just the 2nd time in your lifetime

Perhaps you ought to talk with Hab fans for Kovi

Wow, you really think his value has spiked since you guys acquired him two years ago.

A top line forward on a good long contract has more value than a rental one, yes. He's worth more than a 2nd that turns into a 1st when signed, a 4th, and Danny O'Regan. And with him being on pace for a second consecutive 30 goal season while having 29 and 28 goals the two years prior to that, he's definitely worth more now. It's fine that a team doesn't want to pay that price because the Sharks aren't looking to trade him but if you want to pry one of the four top six forwards that we actually have on this team, you'll have to pay a premium to make it worth it to the Sharks. Again, it's fine if you don't want to pay that price. I wouldn't expect anyone to especially for Kane with the narrative that follows him but the value is there or he don't get moved.

Lol judging by your comment it seems that’s what you’ve witnessed. But I’ve been around long enough to see the sharks miss the playoffs more than that.

I’ve also been around long enough to see my team’s 2 cups and exactly 0 shark cups. Oh well what’s another rebuild for you guys. You and wild fans can have a lot to cheer for in hockey purgatory over the next 10 years.

You think you would get that much for just one of those two. Highly doubt that happens.

considering their contracts, age, and the fact that the Avs picks will probably be in the bottom 5 range it’s not farfetched. I actually don’t know if Wilson would do it considering those picks will basically be 2nds. I think the Avs are poised to be cup contenders for quite a long time

I'd say SJ gives up the 3rd and Thornton to Avs to honour their player and let him go out as a champ.

I’m sure that fills the void when you look up in the Shark Tank and see no Cup Banners.

It kinda is, especially after a giant UFA extension is given out. Expecting to double your money after is silly.

Your argument is that Kane's value hasn't changed at all from that point or what? The difference between a rental status and extended status being one round is oversimplifying the situation especially now after putting out a 30 goal season and being on pace for another 30 goal season while also having a contract that is very valuable for that sort of production at his age while accounting for the baggage associated with him. You also have to account for what he means to his current club as it relates to their strengths and weaknesses. He's certainly increased his trade value based on those things.

True enough
Being a fan of many of the pro sports teams here in the SF Bay Area( Giants, Dubs and the 49ers), the Sharks are the only one yet to win a title
You know three of those moved in from elsewhere right?

But no more Raiders! That's addition by subtraction.
