Marleau and Thonton are Yodi and Obi-Wan 20 years after order 66, and San Jose is their Tattooine and Dagobah. MacKinnon found the Force on his own and doesn't need them riding his coattails.
Replace Jost and Kaut with Newhook and Bowers2020 COL 1st round pick (~#22-31 overall)
F Tyson Jost (21 y/o, 2016 #10 overall, RFA)
F Martin Kaut (20 y/o, 2018 #16 overall, $895k x 2y)

F Evander Kane (28 y/o, $7M AAV x 5y)
Replace Jost and Kaut with Newhook and Bowers
Lol. I'm not sure I'd take it for one guy, let alone both.No chance in getting 2 - 1sts + Jost unless both players are being moved.
Colorado were strongly rumoured to be considering trading the 2019 1st for Kreider, but wouldn't move it once they knew they could get Newhook.
With Newhook having a good season and being a year closer to the NHL, and Kreider being a deadline day UFA instead of having a full season left, I highly doubt Sakic is even considering that one.
Needless to say, Sakic wouldn't trade Newhook at the draft for a full year of Kreider so there's absolutely no way he trades Newhook for Kreider now.
OMG I can’t like things anymore but this post is perfect. In Raymond Bourque's final season in the NHL(2000-01), he finished 2nd in Norris voting and was logging over 26 minutes of ice-time per game.
Thornton and Marleau have 10 goals combined this season.
This is a roller coaster, not a retirement home.
So in effect you want three 1sts for Kane?Replace Jost and Kaut with Newhook and Bowers
Why would any team that’s built for speed go out and get Thornton or Marleau. Especially a team that is already playing well.
In effect I want fair market valueSo in effect you want three 1sts for Kane?
Since the Sharks traded a 1st a 4th and a C level prospect for him, that's Weimar levels of inflation. In effect I want fair market value
Ah!Since the Sharks traded a 1st a 4th and a C level prospect for him, that's Weimar levels of inflation.
Especially when 7 mil of cap space is a hell of an asset for SJ to consider...although DW would have it spent in a day most likely.Since the Sharks traded a 1st a 4th and a C level prospect for him, that's Weimar levels of inflation.
And everyone talked about how little SJ traded for him.Since the Sharks traded a 1st a 4th and a C level prospect for him, that's Weimar levels of inflation.
You’re high on glue if you think a guy with a career high of 57 pts and serious character issues is worth 3 firsts. In effect I want fair market value
For a former 4-star 4th overall 30 goal scoring power forward. ( Is this how it's done?)You’re high on glue if you think a guy with a career high of 57 pts and serious character issues is worth 3 firsts.

Perhaps you ought to look else where
Seriously, please keep him. He’ll be a great role model on a sinking ship that has $42m tied into 5 aging players for the next 5 years. For a former 4-star 4th overall 30 goal scoring power forward. ( Is this how it's done?)
