I’m not advocating getting Pavelski, but if there is a guy who I think won’t age badly it’s him. Dude skates like molasses for years, and gets by by being the best damn tip specialist in the NHL and has insanely high hockey IQ and work drive.
This logic makes sense...but I feel like these guys who "got by without any speed anyways" live on this edge where they fall off completely when they lose another step (in relation to the opposition), as often, if not more often, than the guys who can lose multiple gears & continue doing their thing...
Not saying Pavelski won't stay effective for a few more years & aging well, just a general thought about the way these outliers who get by with suboptimal tools throughout their primes, age.
