Just finished the game.

Marino is playing inspired defense. If he can keep it up, he's going to be a frigging core part of this D for a good while.

Was on the edge of my seat in that last minute and was the first time in a while I jumped up and fist -pumped at the final horn.

Vanacek was awesome, near giveaway for a goal notwithstanding.

5 wins in the last 6 and climbing in the division...

I'm trying to not get too hyped bc they were without two of their top players but man this one felt good and makes me more optimistic of the future than I was last week.

I think full team vs full team they would've lost this game if you take into account the 6 pps lol. Other than that though, I think it doesn't change much 5v5.

We would be in first place.

Our sv percentage is always going to be a bit lower then the average because of how few shots we give up, but even then a few more points in the positive direction and we win a lot of games

I know it's sarcasm (and Avs were banged up too) but it's better to be 5-3 on "easy" schedule to start the season then 2-6 on "hard" schedule.

Being able to roll solid defensive rocks in Marino and Siegenthaler on different pairings is huge. Allows us to match our weaker defensemen against lower opposing lines, and frees up their partners to go on offensive adventures at times.

Yep. We'd needed that second rock-steady defensive defenseman for ages (ideally one on the right side). Getting Marino was exactly what this team needed.

Your team lost to a Devils team that played on even terms with them but got the goal needed to win while the Avs didn't.

It's a well-played game by both sides with both Goaltenders playing extremely well.

Vitek played just a tad better ultimately.
