They've been unable to string together a meaningful amount of wins all season, just don't see it happening with Todd behind the bench, spitting out stupid lines every night and making dumb moves like throwing out Klef and Benning right after a goal or with 1min left in the game. If they had have fired him when they should've and brought in a competent coach we might be singing a different tune.

4 points and a fat zero for goals in the last 13 games.

So we need a superhuman effort on par with last year's (in retrospect) miracle run to...still miss the playoffs.

Yes and no.

If we win against the Pacific at the same rate as we have up to this point, i.e. 14 wins, and manage to get more wins than not sgainst Central, then I would be very surprised if they don't squeeze in, even if the points total wouldn't have been enough last season.

Ftr I have not believed in playoffs since November, and still don't, but it is always fun to speculate on how it can be done.

I think one team has made the playoffs with fewer than 94 points in the last four years. Both wild card spots are occupied by Central teams on pace for 94+ points. I don't think there's any scenario where 91 points gets you in. But then, I don't think there's any way the Oilers end up with 91 points anyway.

Expect the media to pick apart everything Montoya does wrong now and blame everything on him.

Rishaug just opened his mouth and shoved his leg in all the way up to his thigh. What an idiot quote.

Comes across as a sulky baby that's mad that he didn't get his canned pregame quote. Let the man mentally prepare for f*** sake.

Smart of Montoya to not give any material to Ryan Rishaug to bash about

Rishaug is getting blasted on Twitter right now.

As he should be.

Mind you he's a prominent member of the same media group that's attacked Connor McDavid's defensive play and work ethic so if they'll knife him in the back so it makes sense they'd take shots at Montoya's mental health THE DAY AFTER a massive mental health campaign.

I'll never understand why those guys go after players with reckless abandon but as soon as its time to ask a coach, GM, or executive some tough questions they roll over for belly scratches.

No wonder players don't want to be here.

I actually can't get over that tweet.

Might be the most embarrassing comment I've ever seen from an Edmonton media that includes Terry Jones whining about the team not buying him any donuts.

If we're going with pure embarrassment I'm not sure anything will ever top Jones mistaking Twitter as a search engine and looking up porn

Any decent reporter/human would delete the tweet and apologize. Rishaug is blocking people for criticizing him instead.

Yeah Rishaug, we are really missing out on the deep diving questions you guys ask on game days. Fans aren't losing out here.

I couldn't care less.
