This is false IMO, but even if true, it's still too drastic. This set-up blocks some GMs from some positions completely.

Anyway, a discussion for next year.

Also more incentive to vote, it's a shame because this idea will likely be scrapped. But this would certainly improve voter turnout IMO

I am shocked at the 13-16 crowd. That's the definition of hell.

If you can't get a top-4 legend, or legit #5 contender, why not wait and get TWO picks in quick succesion (end of round 1, start of round 2 in the 16-30 value range.

It means you can put roughly the same amount of mental effort into each pick, and not rush every second pick and wait several days for every other one. It's a nice pace to fit your real life around.

I say that as someone who didn't care either way.

Consistent with people prefering to pick higher.

Yeah, if that doesn't make it obvious that earlier picks are desired, I don't know what does!

And yet the last 3 champions all picked in the 2nd half of the first round!

(I wanted a 5-10 pick because just because I haven't picked there before, or so I tell myself!)

Johnny basically hit the nail on the head for me. I think I can still get a nice cornerstone player to build around at 15, and won’t have an overly long wait for my second pick, although not as quick as those in the 20’s of course. But still, this spot should give me some nice prep time between selections as well. It’s basically smack dab in the middle each round. And as TDMM pointed out, I think this leaves me open to some trade possibilities.

I don’t know, it just seemed like a good slot for me this year. Time will tell.
