Kupari isn’t Lewis. Kupari started 60% of his shifts in the offensive zone and had some of the worst defensive and possession metrics on the team. He has a long way to go if he hopes to someday be as good as Lewis.

Lewis wasn't Lewis until age 24 though, and that hockey year is not next year but the following year for Kupari

I get wood at the idea of a
Grundstrom-Helenius-Kupari
Line burning villages, seeing MacDrai driven before them and hearing the lamentations of their women!

Said it many times before, but Kupari is the most frustrating player on the team given the tools he has, but he's not a very bright player. Thinks he can go end-to-end with the puck and constantly turns it over in his own blueline or in the neutral zone. You can't have a player this dumb playing up the middle.

Kupari certainly has had a difficult time adjusting to the North American game as he still plays like the rink is 30 meters wide. I think the biggest mistake with him though was putting him at center to begin with. The consensus at the draft and shortly thereafter was that he would be a scoring winger at the NHL level and I honestly agree and think that is his only path forward. I don't see him reinventing himself into Trevor Lewis by any stretch.

Still surprised Lewis was taken that high, even trading up to get him I believe, but it was Al Murray's scouting that sold DL. Al was fired 2 weeks later.

fixed it. Did you not see how bad the 4th line was in the playoffs, especially those two wingers. No other line got pinned in worse and couldn't generate squat.
