Barzal should be getting at least 9m/yr for however long of a term he's willing to accept wasting his career on Long Island for.
I think they will do the usual, bury Ladd in the AHL or he'll develop a magic rash. Then they'll need to move Clutterbuck with that Avs 2nd, he's owed 2.5m/yr in actual salary, so he's the right sort of cheap for a cheap ass owner (Smelynk) to take on to add veterans to a younger team.Probably not worth it then. Wonder what they do.
Great deal for CBJ. Booooooooo
Honestly that's what Pettersson should be earning.
He’s a passable #4/5. 3.5m/yr would have been “acceptable.”He’s a good top 4 D man. It’d have to be a one or two year deal to get close to that number. He got 5 years and 1 or 2 are UFA. Plus he did a favour and signed a one year deal team friendly deal last season.

Isn't there some lame rumour about Hoffman and the canucks that some reddit bloke said could happen by some arbitrary deadline?
Lebrun said Canuck checked in on him a couple weeks ago but they are over the salary cap so would need to figure that out first.
His biggest offer so far has been in Russia
It's not like Hoffman was just coming off some "measly" 3m/yr contract.
He just wrapped up a 4yr deal in which he made 20.75m. Taking a 1yr deal at even 4m and continue to produce at the rate he does, would make sure teams know he's worth more than that when Seattle enters the league and teams start off loading bad contracts to them with major sweeteners to make space for the incredible amount of UFA's that will still flood the market next summer.
That bloke must have Allan Walsh as his agent or something.
Arbitration dust has yet to settle, also isn't there some 2nd buyout window popping up soon? He’ll be running into internal caps right now. No harm in waiting to see if teams can open up more $ so he gets something closer to what he wants.

Yeah those are one of the teams I think he ends up on.Only arbitration teams can qualify for 2nd buyout. I don’t think there are many left. Think at the moment it’s only in play for Buffalo, NYR, Carolina, Ottawa and Florida. There will be no more eligible 2nd buyouts after Remembrance Day.
A 2nd buyout window will open:
The window begins in 2 days, & is open for 24 hours.
Players eligible for buyout must:
1. Have a cap hit =>$4,000,000
2. Had been on the reserve list on the trade deadline
Yeah those are one of the teams I think he ends up on.
I think in the end, he signs with the Rangers buyout or not. I mean the only buyout I can see the Rangers contemplating is Smith (2.783m cap hit yr1, 783k yr2, where as he's off the books next season, so it'd be a waste).
Buffalo should be buying out Hutton and signing Howard to some dirt cheap 1yr deal and then bring in Hoffman for 1yr as well.
They might be a bubble playoff team then.
Might become a flyers fan now.
Thank god for Philadelphia, Won't get any more specific lol
