Hey, red wings doing the same thing?

Another night where all the teams that need to lose, win.

Well, this is what the Pens have to depend on, and their own actions are to blame.

And then the Flyers give it right back. 5-4 now.

This is what id be a little worried about if we face the flyers and Murray never regains form.

2012 type series. Would still see us winning but dont want Murray going thru that.

And yes the jackets and devils are scoring alot right now, but Flyers and Pens matchups are on a different level.

As much as we like to assume doom in the playoffs due to recent losses to the Islanders and Red Wings, the Flyers and Jackets have given up 5 and 4 goals respectively to those same teams. The Penguins certainly aren't perfect, but some of you need to stop pretending their potential playoff opponents are perfect.

2012 was a once in a lifetime meltdown. The Pens were a better ES, PP and PK team that year yet degenerated into the worst defensive and goaltending performance in modern playoff history. Plus, the Flyers were better then with a way better coach. Not gonna happen again.

We all know this team has another gear. Crosby has obviously picked his spots this year, the defense has been less than committed to shotblocking, especially Letang who’s been playing a relatively soft game all year. Phil Kessel’s even strength season ended two weeks ago apparently. I don’t see the point in being scared of teams who have been playing balls to the wall all year yet still getting worse results.

This is stressful....
The Pens control if they get the 2hd seed or not, not other teams. If we had to rely upon them to lose, then yeah. Unless of course your confidence in them is shaky.

Even if they don't win this year, it's not a disappointment after winning the last 2 Cups. This core has its legacy cemented. They can add to it, but there's no heavy pressure to do so. Especially compared to other "contenders" that have been nowhere close to a Cup.

I really hope the BJ's are blowing their load early and the Penguins will knock them out in the first round if it comes to that.

Remember, we still control our own destiny. The good thing about this is it'll force the pens to play a good last couple of games. Well, if they want home ice it does.

Exactly. We’ve seen 4 finals since 2008. Nashville has seen one ever, Tampa has seen 2, 1 since the lockout. Boston has been the next-most-successful team to make the playoffs and even they had to stew in mediocrity for a few years until this year.
