Saw some people debating why Max P chose LV over LA and vaguely saw someone bring up taxes.

Here in LV we have no state taxes due to Casinos(I think)
In LA there are state taxes. Also the cost of living in California is atrocious.

Sounds like Dotchin has shown up to the last two camps out of shape, no thanks to that type of player.

I also highly doubt that’s all he did.

Zetterberg straight up retiring would screw DET on the Cap as he has three more years at $6m plus. He’s not about to do that to them.

Yeah, that's a distant second on the reasoning to the millions they're going to pay him.

No, I got it.

Zetterberg was a long time Wing and their Captain. Money notwithstanding, I still don’t think he’s the kind of guy that would retire and screw DET with the Cap.

"Money notwithstanding"

Money notwithstanding, my bank wouldn't charge me fees.

The 100% reason he's going on the ltir instead of retiring is because he gets paid. It has nothing to do with anything else. If he retired he wouldn't get paid.

Im sure you are right, but I’m not familiar with Zetterberg’s financial situation. You are apparently?

Congrats to Barkov

Sounds like what people said about Bergeron at his age. But lol at Crosby/McDavid/Barkov

Nurse signs with the oil:thumbd: I was hoping hoping for a lengthy hold-out followed by a trade too the bruins

It is only 2 years could be perfect timing. Chara would be done and we should have a handle on some of the other guys by then. Problem is that he may be priced way to high by then.

Savard wanted to play and couldn't, he was genuinely injured. Zetterberg played all 82 games last year.
Guy’s battled back problems for at least 7-8 years and it’s been well documented. I have no doubt that he’d play if he could. Of course, that’s my opinion and yours was given above. But, right now there’s not really a whole lot to gain for the Red Wings as opposed to the Hossa situation in Chicago where the Hawks desperately needed the cap space so I’m not sure what your complaint is here? Zetterberg has long been lauded as an exemplary leader, a great locker room guy and a credit to the game. I sincerely doubt he’d pack it in just to play more golf or whatever.

I do agree that the front loaded contract (like several other similar ones from that era) was bull from the start, but in this case I don’t doubt that he really is done. Good thing this is one of the last of its kind.
