Mailloux is a piece of shit. He talks about growing and being a good person and went through psych evals etc. But we later find out he sent a 3 line text as his apology when the victim asked for a letter from him showing true remorse.

f*** the Habs. f***ing :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:.

It’s a really bad look, but I can’t say it would prevent him from being hired in most industries tbh.

Varlamov and Watson
The league is a joke.

I was reading about the Patrick Kane rape that he fear mongered the girl into dropping the case. The NHL has no proper rules against abuse like that. Not like the NFL. Yet the NHL acts like they're above it all.

Sloppy seconds? You're done!
A shit comment in a group chat? You're done!

Beat your wife, revenge porn, beat a woman while drunk, take nude pictures/videos of a woman and spread it with her private info, racism, homophobia, and sexual assault is all cool though.

My posts are jokes. And hockey is just a game.

I would bet every team has them. Whether charges got filed or not.

So f***ing stupid man. They gonna plaster #BLM and shit, but they dont value anyone's life...unless it prints money. f***ing hollow bullshit.

I think we just have to be honest and realize that hockey players like all rich people inherently take what they want and we are lucky that Sid and Geno and Letang are seemingly introverted, very nice guys.

Now you know how we feel, we're told "we'll do better."

They don't.

They say they care about us and the LGBTQ.

But their actions don't show it.

You think some words and some Willie O'Ree paraded around the league with rainbow tape solves a f***ing thing? NO. It's maddening to see.

Rich people or not, the NFL is fine making money off our backs, the NHL is fine talking about how hockey is for everyone, but all they care about is money. The Hawks literally deemed their success was far more important than a sexual predator on their team doing disgusting things and threatening and assaulting their players and then quietly let him go after the cup so he can go and assault an underage player. That same team can have players utter homophobic slurs.

In the NHL and AHL, as well as across the sport in various leagues, racial slurs are still being heard.

But hey...we got a cool slogan.

Hockey.
Is.
For.
Everyone.

Unless you're black, assault victim, any persons of color (asian, etc), or a part of the LGBTQ.

I don't know where their true beliefs align so it's hard to say, their non-action/words outside of some random statements for current events, keep them in a good spot because of that. They do appear to be good blokes though and I see enough of you post their social media stuff to get a good read on what we do see, but what we don't is always shrouded in mystery, you know what I mean mate?

To be a fly on the wall for a lot of these non POC players and the NHL BOG's office when here's something egregious done to a player of color or their sexual orientation (LGBTQ)...to hear what they really think. That's also not to say POC can't be shit too. Evander Kane is quite shit.

A few years back, I had a mate that was somewhat close that I was having coffee with to catch up, during the drive, he was cut off by an Asian driver. He yelled "That dumb f***ing c****." I won't say what I did, but my wife (gf at the time) always wondered why my hand was so banged up and why I was back home so early and shaking with rage, I just hugged her, changed and went straight to working out to release the rest of the rage. I laugh at the whole "well he was drunk" or "it was just out of anger"...you are who you are, those things just reveal your true colors. Like when a player is in a fight with a player of color, to attack their race as an insult, it's not a heat of the moment thing. That's hate that has been inside for a long time.

I don't know why the league has such a hard time actually doing something about it. To see the Montreal Canadiens draft that player, is sickening. Being in Canada, I get that the politicians in Quebec are quite ass backwards towards immigrants/minorities, but the people there, a very large majority of them, are awesome, like our Mod Scandy and a bunch of others from that area that are Pens fans. I just sit back and laugh in disbelief at teams that preach character and then do that. I've been there several times on work trips and outside of some language issues for obvious reasons, everyone I encountered was very nice.

Drafted the kid who shares nude pics of his girl.
He shared nudes of a girl he had a sexual encounter with, without her permission. Then he proceeded to find her personal information and social media profiles and shared that as well to show who she was to his friends on the team, one of which felt disgusted enough to report him.

He then said he has grown from the incident and learned, the London Knights went on about how he took psych evaluations and other things that tested his character.

Then...

The woman reached out and said she wanted a written letter from him detailing his apology for the incident as she didn't want to see him face to face, what he did was sent a text message of 3 lines.

That's what happened.

I know this is a shitty thing to say, but we have to look at it both ways. What the player did is unacceptable, but let’s not pretend people react in different ways to these types of things. Both him being wrong in his action and her being malicious in her hypothetical punishment can be true.

They had a consensual hook up. Then he did some horrible, uncalled for and most importantly childish shit. He was charged in accordance with Swedish law and paid up. I don’t think he deserves to be crucified for this.

That being said, the league can not come out and say they are for everyone while multiple teams impose domestic and sexual abusers of women. There has to be a line that can’t be crossed.

I think the reality is the sport is predominantly a white, rich boy sport and inherently these type of people are going to think they can do whatever they want and people of other classes, genders and races are beneath them. That’s just the honest and dark side of hockey regardless of what anyone tries to sell it as.

There is no African American center in the NHL. How bizarre is that?
