Yeah, I looked at the standings again...

Couldn't help but notice the Islanders are currently leading the Metro. And the Caps are in 5th.

Would be funny as all get out if somehow the Isles finished ahead of the Caps this year.

Caps are only 4 pts behind the Islanders. It is still too early but the Islanders are better than people thought they'd be when they lost Tavares.

Since this season was lost before it ever began, I'd only trust the move if new leadership made the call during the upcoming off-season. No point having him come in to a dumpster fire this year that needs to continue to fail for the time being, until ideally the Captain saves it next year, but who knows.
