Get a new GM, identify your 3/4 franchise guys, and blow the team up.
- Moving Meszaros & Timonen at the deadline, while eating half of their contracts (both are on the last year of their deals) will net them nice assets.
- See if you can find a spot for Hartnell on another NHL team without taking salary back. Nice player, but overpaid and hurting the team's ability to make moves elsewhere.
- Use the $6mil from Timonen's expiring contract on a legit UFA defensive defenceman in the offseason.
- Emery/Mason is not the answer. Jesus, this should be obvious...

I was/am so pissed to see him leave but I guess management didn't see a role for him.

He was the ideal bottom 6 winger for me.
