hoffman is too old/risky, wouldn't give stone, other goalies in system too young/risky. it's the closest give or take i can think of that they would be interested in.

The Oilers shipped out Smid to clear room for Bryz, which means we were never going to be in the running for Smid. We could only take a deal like that if we shipped salary the other way.
