Michalek makes 6.0 cash this season and is a UFA at seasons end... 16GP 3G... he has no value

Greening's new contract consists of a modified NTC and he has an escalating pay structure where he makes 3.2 in his last year... 16GP 0G so far this season

Trading one of their only good defencemen for prospects, when they are supposed to be nearing the end of their rebuild, when they need prospects, they need a goalie and MORE defencemen...

You have to remember this is Calgary though.

This deal probably signifies that they are going for the Cup this year. They are going to be trading their 1st round pick for a rental like Iginla soon.
