My comment wasn’t aimed at you, more about how Tkachuk turning it down somehow is an indictment on Ottawa. Aho wouldn’t sign an 8 year deal after his ELC, nor Matthews, nor Marner, nor Barzal, etc…. Some players do, but many high profile RFAs choose shorter deals. Even Point went with a 3 year deal before then signing long term when he was 25.

Sometimes a teams cap situation limits what they can offer, but many times these young guys want options.
