You know legalese better than I. Does this seem like a valid tactic that will stick? Kane's not a registered business to my knowledge, so is it possible to change it to Chapter 11?

I'm not privy to any of the nuts and bolts of the facts. And bankruptcy law is well outside any experience I've had. So best guess is it's possible. Kane does have top notch bankruptcy attorneys. That's the one smart thing he's done.
The sale of his watches to pay off gambling debts potentially falls into the 90 day bankruptcy preference window. It's likely that all or some portion of it will be returned to the debtor for later allocation. Taxes, court costs, whatever. There is a certain order of payment in bankruptcy law.
But that raises the issue of if the money went directly to a casino to pay off a NV marker. Because a preference determination means the casino marker is now not paid. It may be in the casino's interest to get the DA to file fraud charges. If it's a NV marker and if the DA doesn't file charges, then the casino could lose the right to get paid that money. It's trickey because that's now a deportation offense if this gets him a felony record.
A few ifs but we all know how much Kane likes vegas casinos.

Felt like he had to go out of his way to mention how most of the guys are AHL caliber since many people give unrealistic expectations for these kind of guys. That said, I have liked what I've seen from Matt Kiersted out of North Dakota.
