I spotted a van with Ontario tags leaving the service entrance of PNC Arena.

Raleigh to get an MLB team!?!???!??!?

Joking aside, I've always thought that if the Rays were to relocate, Durham would make the perfect spot for them to wind up. You've got built-in marketing with the Bulls name.

Somebody please make it happen. Charlotte had the chance to purchase the Marlins some 7-8 years ago but they didn't have the space and/or money to do so.

Likely money, especially considering Loria. Space wouldn't have been a concern at the time - Knights Stadium in Fort Mill was designed to be converted to accommodate a major league team if one ever relocated. I'm not sure about the new stadium in uptown, but I don't think it can.

Charlotte and especially Durham flat-out don't have the population to sell 2 million baseball tickets a year. It'll be a long time before they get that big, maybe 20-30 years.

I agree MLS would be a good fit for the Triangle though.

So it comes down to Boston, Ottawa and Pittsburgh now, yeah? If Ottawa wins, they're in.

That quote reminds me so much of his quote shortly after trading Kaberle. "I should have known better [than to sign him]"

Penguins dressed five defensemen tonight because they didn't have cap room to call up a sixth. This isn't the first time they were forced to do so.

After years of Rutherford's failures being blamed on the budget, this is highly amusing to me.

I'll be so damn happy whenever the draft is over with.
I honestly hope next years draft is weak as balls I don't care that we will have a 2nd pick in the first round I really don't.
Sick of the blatantly obvious tanking that goes on and people who love for their team to lose.
Yeah sure you can get a game-changing player but ****.
I'm just incredibly sick of seeing it.

It feels like it has become more popular to lose than actually trying to win.

Very strange, yes. The AGM Jason Botterill is supposed to be some cap guru.....

Basically, Rutherford made a bunch of costly moves for a team that might not even make the playoffs.
