Team Doblett of Fire is proud to select C/RW - Trevor Linden. Linden was named captain of the Canucks at age 21, making him one of the youngest captains in NHL history. His number is retired in Vancouver and he made an incredible impact on the team, city, etc. He will be a great leader on team Doblett of Fire even if he doesn't see a ton of ice time. Linden played 1,382 career games and scored 375 goals and 867 points.

Team Doblett of Fire is proud to select D - Ed "Jovo Cop" Jovanovski. Ed played 1,128 NHL games and scored 137 goals and 500 career points. He also brought a physical presence and is a versatile guy I can put in the lineup if we need a jolt.

The Bjugstud Biggies select the bald Slovak that tragically lost his life because the KHL is terrible for safety - the late legend Pavol Demitra.

Squaw Valley is pleased to select:

LW Normand Leveille

Many in this league may not be familiar with Leveille whose career was cut short due to a tragic aneurysm that felled him on October 23, 1982 in Vancouver. He was this 12 year olds favorite player and I remember watching the game that would be his last. It was either a Saturday afternoon or night and I remember him getting hit hard behind the net. He went off the ice and never returned to the NHL, as he nearly died in a Vancouver hospital that night, and never fully recovered.
He was a fast, tenacious and skilled LW who was off to a great start in his NHL career, as he scored 17 Goals and had 42 Points before he turned 20.
Squaw Valley team captain Ray Bourque was behind one of the more touching end emotional moments in Boston Bruins history when he facilitated this:

Happy to keep Normand’s memory alive with this selection.

Next up, Robert Lang. He was fun to watch for the Penguins. A reliable two way player for his entire career. When looking up Lang for this, I became aware that he finished his career in Phoenix. How fun!

The Gentlemen Bastards welcome C Brent Sutter

Going with bloodlines and solid all-around play with this taxi squad player. It's always good to have another solid Selke hopeful waiting in the press box.

Brent spent 10 years with the New York Islanders and twice helped his team bring home the Stanley Cup. His best season was in 1984-85, when he had 42 goals and 102 total points. He was known around the league as a tough, hard-working player with a complete game, as adept at scoring goals as he was at mixing it up in the corners. Brent played the classic "Sutter" game, but he was likely the one who took the family business to the highest level.

The Gentlemen Bastards select, D Calle Johansson

The 37th ranked defenseman in point shares, just behind Drew Doughty.

Born in Goteborg, Sweden, Johansson played with the Vastra Frolunda and Bjorkloven domestic teams. In 1985 he represented the host country at the European Junior Championships and was selected to the tournament all-star team. He also played at the 1986 and 1987 World Junior Championships and was selected the best defenceman at the latter.

Johansson was the first round draft pick, 14th overall, by the Buffalo Sabres at the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. He joined Buffalo in 1987-88 and impressed with 42 points and selection to the NHL All-Rookie Team. That year he led all first year players with a plus/minus rating of +12 and finished second with 38 assists. The next season he was included in a multi-player deal with Washington that brought goalie Clint Malarchuk to the Sabres.

Upon his trade to Washington in 1988-89, Johannson became a fixture on the team's blueline. He scored at least 40-points four times and was a major part of the Caps' specialty teams and transition game. The talented blueliner helped Washington reach the semi-finals in 1990 and the final in 1998. In 1999-00 the veteran rearguard led all NHL defenceman with 2,389 shifts.

KINKY KIRKS select Stephane Richer, another highly skilled big guy. Richer scored 20+ goals 12 years in a row, also hitting the 50 goal mark twice during that impressive run.

His skill and size will be a perfect complement to any line should any of the KIRKS wingers go down during the season.

Voted as having the softest hands in the NHL - The Bjugstud Biggies select Craig Janney.

Up next is the softest hands to ever be a Penguins fan, Kirk.

Oops I meant it's @Dr Pepper who is up.

I'm confused. One of you is up.

Puck Time Pilots add to their defensive reserves... the steady, intelligent, tough, defensively responsible, able to run a PP, modern day non-flashy but effective with leadership type defenseman... D-Ryan McDonagh!
