This is a good add for Tucson. Saves the Coyotes some money, too. With Dvorak back up, there was no need for Weal, who was acquired because the Coyotes needed injury fill-ins.

There's one season where the Habs has Kovalev, Koivu, Komisarek, Kositsyn (A), Kostitsyn (S), Kostopoulos. They has Markov as well.

Best season of all time.

But they all got KO’d by the habs

lateral trade talent wise.....none. time to check contract and age...
For AZ this is 100% about AHL salary. Chaput makes a fraction of what Weal makes if both are in the minors.

For Montreal they trade a guy who’s proven he can’t play at the NHL level, for a guy who might still have a shot.

Hudon is as good as gone if Weal stays with the big club, that makes 25 players with Weise called up

Maybe a forth round pick?

Typical move by Bergevin
Obviously did not learn anything from 2 years ago
At least he didn't waste a draft pick

Habs are not going for the cup this year and MB already said at his earlier PC that he isn't sacrificing the future so unless its a hockey trade he isn't moving picks and prospects.

You should know that us fans don't want MB to sell the farm on rentals so not sure what you are expecting. If you think MB is going to trade a 1st and Phoeling or Brook well you are going to be very disappointed today.

Chaput sucks, wasn't he waived?

Weal for free. Even if he's bad, he's not that bad. Habs win.

Atleast Weal has decent skating speed in a straight line, so he should be able to keep up with Montreal’s speedy forwards.

Weal is a right handed player with speed, it's worth the try. Chaput wasn't contributing at the nhl level.

Both teams win. The Coyotes don’t want to burn money on Weal’s AHL salary. Chaput is much cheaper. Chaput is a good enough AHL player that he should help Arizona’s minor league team compete. Meanwhile, Montreal gets a guy who can potentially play on an NHL 4th line. Everyone gets what they want.

I couldn't agree more. I don't want him to be a major player unless the player coming back has term ( say a signed Stone)
I'm ok with the rebuild for now, until this summer where he will have to get busy
I just think this move is useless
