Hammond served his purpose well. He afforded the Habs the chance to send Primeau down to Laval. With Monty, the return of Allen, and Price looking like he might get a few games in, it was a good piece of business to trade Hammond for help with the Rocket's push for the playoffs.

More seriously, we essentially traded Baddock for Schnarr, which is a win for me, Baddock has no future in the NHL, whereas Schnarr, although slim, at least has a chance.
