Both sports Network in Québec confirmed the news . It's suppose to be official on thursday. Roy even said it himself on TV

http://tvasports.ca/hockey/lnh/tourigny-adjoint-de-roy-29052013 <-- TVA Sports

Translation TVA ( from me ):

If Roy said that the news is not confirmed, he admits that there was a verbal agreement made between the two parties on Tuesday.

" I realize that it goes very fast, but it is clear that Andre is a person with whom I want to work. He is a passionate, I was always close to him . He's the kind of person with whom I can talk about hockey until three or four in the morning and we have not moved. For me, this is important."

"André went to school, he did a great job at the World Junior Hockey Championship, with a good group of coaches within the Canadian team. It will be a great partner and I'm comfortable working with him. "

Found this translated quote on TVA from today.

"Laperriere on board?

In addition, Roy has not forgotten his former colleagues when he was in Quebec. His former deputy with the Quebec Remparts since 2005, Martin Laperriere, confirmed that he had had discussions with him to join Colorado.

The 38 year old man wants to first talk with his family before making a decision. As the new head coach of the Avalanche, he argues that Laperriere would make a great partner with him in the National Hockey League.

"I spoke with" Lappy ", sure I'd like him to think so join us," said Roy."

Always room for another coach, if Laperriere does come on board and we keep Army.

I like how this guy uses the words; physical, skating, and adjusting when he was defensive coach for Canada.

I think this is a solid move.

What's the track record of bold coaches behind the bench in the NHL?

Mike Yeo done well in Minny.

Barry Trotz of course always a solid coach.

Andre Tourigny might bring something new and good as an AC.

Let's not forget how bold (and bald) Claude Julien is.

And don't get me started on big bold himself, Mr. Bruce Boudreau.

Laperriere is bald too. It'd make for an interesting image with both he and Tourigny flanking Roy.

I meant bald of course not bold. I don't recall Avs ever having someone bald behind the bench.

Maybe new luck?

Edit: im not counting Sokolowski.

The glare the bald heads would generate on each side of Roy would make it look like Roy just descended from the heavens.

I'm with the rest of you guys. Roy talks about Stanley Cup attitude. But what about Stanley Cup hair. I feel like we lost it when Quinn, O'Byrne, and Galiardi left.

My apologies to El_Loco_Avs...

He started a thread about this earlier, and I merged it with the Patrick Roy thread.

I figured we only needed one thread about the coaching staff...

Sorry, Bro. :(
