He is about an 8th D to me in terms of skill level independently of his contract, his skating is very poor and his decision making his poor. He could have been a solid defensive D 10 years ago, but now his playstyle is outdated, the league is too fast for him.

He's way to slow and he doesn't have the hands or vision to make up for it. He's being waived because Montreal has, like, nine better or equal D-man and Weber is ready to play.
