This is now handled for the Devils by a company called Philly Express. The problem is, they're a smaller operation and don't accept direct orders for NHL jersey customization. So what you have to do, and I'm currently in the process, is drop it off at a Flyers Skate Zone. I took mine to the Voorhees location since it's kind of the main location for the Skate Zones. I dropped mine off in person (they were very friendly), but I'm sure you can mail it to them if you contact them ahead of time to let them know. They told me they can just ship it back to me when it comes in. I was apparently the first Devils jersey they had seen dropped off (according to the store manager), so they didn't know how much to charge. And apparently turnaround time right now is roughly 4 weeks.
The process seems like a bit of a pain, but how often do you need a jersey customized anyway? It's worth it to have it done right by the people who do it for the team.
I’m sure it’s somewhere in this thread but I’d prefer someone give me there most up-to-date method. I’ve got a white/green Stevens CCM throwback, stitched. What’s the safest way to wash it? I must have worn it about 12 times by now and haven’t spilt anything on it thankfully but I haven’t washed it either
Do you flip them back proper when air drying or leave it inside out?I just turn my jerseys inside out and wash them with regular detergent in cold water. Then I leave them on a hanger to air dry, and never put them in the dryer. Never had an issue using this method, and really these jerseys are made to be machine washed. I'll also say that I've never had an issue with the red bleeding and staining other clothing.
Do you flip them back proper when air drying or leave it inside out?
Thanks!Yup definitely flip it back to normal when air drying.
We can't ask for a better write up than this one. Thank you.Jersey Update:
It has arrived! Shipping took 1 day, which was nice. Overall, I'm very happy with the jersey. I wanted the authentic Adidas done by the authentic customization company, and that's what I got. It really wasn't even a painful process outside of the trip down to Voorhees to drop it off, and for all I know the Flyers Skate Zone would have let me mail it to them anyway. My receipt shows the work coming to $63 with a $7 shipping charge plus $4.33 in tax, so the price is good.
You can definitely tell the difference between a Philly Express job and an Exclusive Pro job, if you're familiar with both. The Z stitch used by PE is wider and therefore more noticeable from a distance. Can't say I'm a fan of that though if you had to ask which way I prefer, but it's what it is. The material used for the letters/numbers seems to be the same that EP used. More comments below:
Spacing and leveling were perfect! I actually had an issue with this using Exclusive Pro, so this was nice to see. Overall, it does look like a real deal Hischier jersey (as it should lol).
Nameplate looks solid. One interesting thing to note here is that, Exclusive Pro would do this thing where they would stitch a particular pattern around the border of the nameplate, and then they would Z stitch the nameplate to the jersey. Philly Express appears to do this as well, albeit with a different stitch pattern, but only to the top and bottom of the border. You'll notice those parts of the nameplate are thicker than the left side in this photo.
This is just a photo so that you can see the inside of the jersey. As I said above, they do it correctly by only stitching the completed nameplate and black number to the jersey. Stitching all layers through would have been amateur. You can also see that they almost never double-back on their work, which is also a sign of quality.
The number on the sleeves was done well. Looks to be space from the shoulder and elbow just where it should be. I am disappointed though that I asked for the Centennial patch to be put on, which they did heat press, but they didn't stitch it down as well. Maybe for the on-ice jerseys this was done by the team's equipment manager, so PE didn't know to do it? Hopefully my wife or her mom can carefully stitch it down.
Alright now this is really my only gripe with Philly Express, and it's not huge but it's still a bit annoying... some of the stitching on the white fabric was not done too carefully in a couple spots. You can see in this photo that they didn't get to the edge of the white fabric with the stitch. Keep in mind this is only in a couple spots and most of the jersey is done right. But I just checked a couple of my Exclusive Pro jersey and they ALL are stitched right to the edge perfectly. Now, will this be a problem down the road after several washes when maybe the glue fades a bit? Maybe or maybe not, but it's one of those "attention to detail" things that bothers me a bit. Devsman, how does this look on your authentics?
All in all, I love this jersey. And it was kind of neat to be the guinea pig in this process. Definitely recommend everyone send their Adidas authentics to Philly Express, but I would also tell PE to maybe be a little more careful when stitching on the white fabric.

My Butcher from Philly Express
Closed a deal about a week and a half ago and got a jersey in return as part of the deal. Got the jersey in yesterday: Ari Ahonen Albany River Rats black jersey. These were meant for the players to wear as an alternate for a season in the mid 2000's (03-04 I believe) but when Lou found out the team was forced to only wear these on team events (Casino night, meet and greets, etc). A few were also sold in the team store as well from what I have been told. Nice and unique looking jersey but due to it being a 58+ goalie cut the arms are needless to say gigantic.
Edit: Due to the lack of set tag this jersey is most likely one of the retail versions. I have edited the description to reflect that
Just ordered a Hall from them. COOL25 discount code gets you 25% off.
got this from CoolHockey. Only took about a week from order to delivery.
