I would like Carlo to have a look on PP. I know it might sound crazy considering his total point production however he is a better skater than Krug, has a better reach than Krug, can defend odd man rushes better than Krug. Carlo's shot is not on Krug's level yet in terms of accuracy. That said from what I saw last night Krug on PP is not what he used to be.
Thank you! Some sound logic in this post.
These are some of the centers I've been looking into...
Kevin Hayes
Coyle
Brock Nelson
Eric Staal
Filppula
Marcus Johansson
Brassard
Hanzal
Pageau
The last time the Bruins beat the Capitals was 2014, it’s about more than one game.Wow, just no. People overreact to one game way too ****ing much

The great thing is I don’t have to figure any of this out.
I’ll predict that Mcavoy and Carlo come in at $8.5-9M next year with Mcavoy making $5.5 and Carlo signing a bridge deal at $3.
Philadelphia retains $3M on Voracek if we make the pick a 2nd rounder and throw in Cehlarik. That’s +$4M in cap this year. Then you factor in moving Backes and slashing Chara, there’s around $9M to sign Mcavoy and Carlo.
Aberg would be perfect as a 3rd line center. He played super for the preds in their playoff run a couple of years ago when injuries hit them. He stepped up and played extremely well. Couldn't believe when the Oilers actually put him on waivers earlier this year. I was hoping he'd slide and Boston would pick him-up then.
That’s great, but the team needs a top 6 winger that will help them at even strength as well as the powerplay. Do you think the drop off in PP production would really be that great if Mcavoy was in there instead of Krug? He currently has 0.64 ppg with half the amount of powerplay TOI.Krug’s career high on the PP is 25 points. He currently has 18 in 33 games. So, yes he isn’t what he used to be, he is doing even better.

With this logic everyone should trade their 20 year old dmen for 35+ players because history says so. McAvoy should be in zero trade talks. NONE. ZIP. ZEERROOOO....
We traded Seguin for scraps and now he scores on us every game. We have no pieces left from that trade and now have a small window for a cup with no sure thing center ready to go in the system, but a good number of prospects who COULD step in one day.
We trade McAvoy for a run or 2, we then have no #1D in the system ready to go when Chara (and according to your proposal Keith) retires. IF and only IF we have to trade Mc for some reason it's for a #1C of similar age (Point, Dria, Mack, Eichel, etc.)
I like Mike but that would be an all time horrible tradeThis trade is awful. McAvoy is a young buck. Keith is cooked even at 50%. Saad is a 20 goal scorer who makes 6m per. Saad can be had for much less than McAvoy. And there’s zero need for Keith, he’s a cap dump
That doesn’t help the team at even strength, still need someone that can play on the second line and probably a 3C if they want to contend this year. I don’t mind picking up a rental 3C but Schenn would be the best option available.Considering McAvoy can’t even find his way to the ice, yes. I would personally take DeBrusk off the PP and use both. Charlie out high, Krug on the half wall and Pasta on the other side
Aberg is a winger and pretty bad defensively. He had issues in Edmonton on top of his play.
I'd still want him whether its on the wing or center, maybe I'm remembering wrong but I thought back in 16-17 he was playing center for the Preds during their Cup run, either way I really liked his game.
Why is he bad defensively? I'll admit I haven't seen him play a lot but when I have nothing really glowing stuck out.
Stone is a tier above those guys. He would help in the playoffs the most. I'd give up value for him just for a rental, now that Ottawa got over its not trading in the division hang-upwhy are we talking about trading mcavoy?
i like ferland and would consider a 2nd/prospect for him after the canes don't get a 1st.
ideally we can find a better player that's gonna hang around longer. but if we're talking
pure rental RW, i would want stone, simmonds or silfverberg. silfverberg would cost the
least and he could be a really nice fit on this team. hope the ducks keep losing.
I like Anderson and Wood. Wood is better suited to current game great skater and nasty. With NJ out of it a package of prospects might get him. Cant see Columbus moving Anderson, I expe t them to be buyers at deadlineI don’t dislike Ferland, but he’s a UFA, and I can see him looking for a big pay day. As I already said, I’m getting a Beleskey vibe here and the B’s don’t need another contract like that.
As far as Heinen goes, I hope he stays, but if he goes, I want someone better than Ferland coming back. Move him (plus) for Anderson or maybe even Wood, because both of those guys are younger than Ferland.
I believe Krug likely signs a multi year deal here after this contract expiresKrug’s career high on the PP is 25 points. He currently has 18 in 33 games. So, yes he isn’t what he used to be, he is doing even better.

Let's say the Bruins trade Heinen and add a center. What does the 3rd line look like?
