The Bruins have one of the best farm systems in the league.

Do you mean as in ability to develop? Then I'd agree it's pretty high up there. But if you mean in terms of quality of prospects currently in the system it's not. It's near the bottom of the league. Doesn't mean it's bad just means most other teams have better prospects. It's a casualty of being good for a long period of time - a sacrifice I'll take.

Fortunately we got guys like Pasta, Carlo, MacAvoy and DeBrusk at lower than normal draft positions which has really allowed us to keep competing.

Palmieri and Wood have been beaten to a pulp.

Backes + Heinen + Vaakanienen + 2020 1st for Rickard Rakell and Nick Ritchie

Rakell has the better track record of 5v5 production than Palmieri
Ritchie is the physical presence that Wood is not

Marchand Bergeron Pastrnak
Debrusk Krejci Rakell
Ritchie Coyle Bjork
Nick Ritchie has 71 hits in 38 games Wood has 89 in 58. 20 points for Wood 15 for Ritchie.

I think we should sell the farm for a package of Timo Meier and Brenden Dillon.

Then make another trade for Ondrej Kase.

Our window is now. Go all in.

They have a number of players who will play in the NHL at forward. Frederic, Beecher, Studnicka, Blidh and Hall should all have pretty long NHL careers. Studnicka is the only one I see that has a chance of being a top 6 forward. Which is fine if you optimize your free agent signings and can get top 6 players in their late 20's. They did a nice job with DeBrusk and Pastrnak so they can draft well. If you can fill in your bottom 6 with picks and ELC's you have a huge edge and the ability to add top tier talent to your first two lines. You just can't screw up free agent signings or trades to fill those spots.

The D has been a different story where they have young impact D in McAvoy and Carlo, signed Krug who has been a power play beast for years and have good depth in Lauzon, Clifton and Grz. I'm pretty sure any team in the league would be happy with that group as home grown talent.
Agree, although it's to soon to pin Beecher and Hall in the NHL as of now.

How did Sweeney miss out on Julien Gauthier? They’re looking for a right winger with size who can score. Julien matches that at 6’4” 220 lbs who has put up two +25 goal seasons for Charlotte.

Raleigh got back Keane from the Rangers. With Bruins’ stable of D prospects couldn’t DS have beaten that offer?

Now we're benching Grizzy for Brendan Dillon?

I just go by the opinions of hardcore Devils fans that I am friends with, as well as what a couple friends who work in the hockey analytics industry tell me. People who watch a lot of Miles Wood hockey. A lot.

To each his own. I like to form my own opinions. Most people here said Kovalchuk was toast. I watched him, I said he's still fast, he still makes plays, we should take a flyer... nobody bought it. When we played them the other night I thought he was their most dangerous offensive player. Now they want a 2nd round pick for him.

Wood has elite speed, and the hands to pull off some spectacular solo goals. He's a bit like Kuraly in that he doesn't involve his linemates much, but his linemates are garbage right now. I agree that he's not the most active hitter, but still a 100 hit guy, and perhaps more importantly, he is strong on his skates and hard to knock off the puck. I think he'd be a nice, speedy fit next to Coyle and Bjork, and I like that he's young enough to still have upside. Guys like Tuch and Anderson (before the injury) are impossible to acquire once they break out. Here we have a chance to get a 24 year old power forward with a 19 goal season. If he gets to the next level it's like found money, and if he doesn't, he's producing at a good clip right now, averaging 30 points per 82. That's about all you can expect from middle6 forwards who don't get PP time. Heck, Palmieri only averages 31 even strength points. Wood would be a solid add with upside, IMO.

I wish Kreider was a natural RW, I think his style is what's missing in the Bruins top 6. It doesn't really fill the hole on Krejci's right though. If they don't get another winger maybe Bjork would work in that spot.
The goal at the deadline should be depth scoring, you can do that by finally getting Krejci his RW or you can extend your line up and give Coyle and Bjork a top tier winger. Kreider-Coyle-Bjork causes nightmare match ups with Bergerons line and then whoever is with Krejci. A healthy Anderson would be a nice fit but if worse comes to worse Kuhlman can help the line with his speed. DeBrusk-Krejci-Kuhlman up against third pair defensive units and away from better checking forward lines should produce.

Most teams are still going to key on Bergeron's line and try to shut it down extend your top six and Coyle and Krejci's lines should produce.

They weren't about to give up Lauzon or Vaakainen for Gauthier.

I seriously doubt Zboril would of enticed Carolina to trade Gauthier to the Bruins.

Um, Kreider. In case you missed the thousands of posts about this and Pierre McGuire's commentary during the Rangers game on Sunday: Christopher Kreider can (and has) played right wing.
I haven't been paying much attention lately so I did miss that.

That's great, if he's just as effective on the right than he's one of the best fits.
