I find it likely that Eriksson does end up walking on July 1st. I think it's likely the team will be in the race at the TDL.

That would be a bad bad bad, bad move from us, there's no reason to lose a 1st round pick for that.

If Lou is not going to get re-singed here he needs to be traded and call up Vatrano or whoever to replace him, I don't want to see another Soda mistake, this team clearly isn't a contender.

I would not be shocked if the B's dealt Loui at the TDL even if they weren't out of contention for a spot (if there was a good market for him).
My guess is that they choose to keep either Eriksson or Connolly and deal the other at/before the TDL. I think we'll see Vatrano around that time playing next to Spooner and Hayes.

Pitkanen is 32, hasn't played at all in two years and didn't play more than 30 in the two years before that. What could possibly go wrong?

I will take a BIG PASS on this.

If he had called and asked for a camp invite this year I might have said yes. If he calls and asks for a contract with Providence for a month, I might say yes.

But yeah, I have no expectation that he can solve anything wrong with this team, and by next year's training camp I will have absolutely no interest in him as there will be better people in Boston

Hell baby
Joni had a BRUTAL injury.

I'd take him on a PTO in Providence and go from there but I can't imagine there would be any immediate help there.

Would rather go with a young kid than Joni. We already have 2 defenseman who could go down at any time. Don't need another, and lets be honest, he's probably worse than Matt Irwin.

If anything, was mentioned above, PTO in Providence to see what he has. If he shows anything of significance that he'd be an immediate upgrade over someone up already, then fine, but that's as far as i'd go.

Chia will need to make a deal soon...That team is aiming for another first draft pick. :shakehead

Hall for Chara...Would that work?

+ Talbot lol

Please don't put your proposal on the main board. We'll be mocked and laughed at. If your being facetious, I apologize. Hall isn't getting traded. They say he's the next captain over there.

I think you're right. I see Chiarelli possibly shopping Drasaitl for immediate help on the blue line. They could've used a physical veteran presence their too. Also a Chris Kelly defensive forward PK specialist. Can't believe that team is still floundering

Why I posted here. More reasonable folk. To be honest with you it makes perfect sense for both teams and players. Oilers desperate need for top defender with leadership. Chara chia connection etc etc. Hall is a bruin fan with agent Orr probably pushing for hall in Boston. Hall has not been all that impressive. Very injury prone dude. So no sure thing for Boston either. Boston moving their game towards speed and youth and Edmonton desperately needing maturity and solid D leadership. I don't think it's a completely out of the realm a trade like this goes down. Just ones opinion.

Unless I got an offer which blew my doors off I keep Loui Eriksson.

He brings all the tools to the table that I want to see on this team (outside of being overtly physical) & I think he's the kind of player we can move forward with.

He's going to cost north of $5m per on a pretty long deal IMO.

Don't see that happening.

I really want to see Vatrano on Spooners line. Kelly was great last game but Vatrano deserves a shot with some offensive talent. If anything I'd sit Kamp, he hasn't shown that much.

IF (and that's a big IF), Vatrano would actually get playing time, that would be great, but I just don't see that happening. Vatrano has not played a ton of hockey the last couple of years so I would just as soon let him build up his confidence shredding the AHL for the time being with good playmakers like Czarnik and/or Koko.

I think he will get his chance this year, but now is too soon.

Yeah you're right. That would be awesome if he was like Pastrnak last year; tore up the AHL and came up halfway through the year and made an impact. By then you know what you have in Connolly as well so there might be room for Vatrano.

Ok. So Loui has a good next 4 months. 18g 22 assists in 50 games with a plus minus of plus 6 and 6 pp goals.

What do you see the bruins getting in return for a player like that, at the deadline, in the last year of his contract?

2nd round pick? Prospect and a 4th ?

Funny you should ask.

Last year, Antoine Vermette (13g/22a) was traded at the deadline to CHI for a 1st and Dahlbeck a 24 year old 3rd round pick that projects to be a solid stay at home 3rd pair.

I would expect that kind of return at the deadline.

If there's a chance of playoffs maybe you use those assets (not the 1st) to a team for a top 4 D ?
