Agreed.

Kessell isn't a head case. I personally believe a big reason he got so much hate is because he was the best player on a very bad team in Toronto... and Toronto is the biggest hockey market in the United States. Some of the biggest NHL contributors cover and are fans of Toronto.

If the Caps sucked, I guarantee you Ovi would have the same exact media hatred as Kessell. The only difference is Ovi is on a winning team and Kessell is on a losing team. Kessell has 21 points in 22 career playoff games. That is better than anyone on the Caps team in points per playoff game besides Ovechkin (and the numbers are close there).

The fact that Toronto is willing to retain up to 2 million of his salary or take a bad contract on too is amazing. Could you imagine Kessell at just age 30 or 31 if he's working out well here for just 6 million/season? That could be one of the best bargains in the NHL.

Again, the cost is the difficult thing here. Kessell isn't going to go for cheap. His value is probably twice of Sharps and rumors are Kessell is getting A TON of interest.

IMO he'd be the perfect gamble this team needs and hasn't tried. Even if it didn't work out, at least it's a true win-now big move that could excite/ignite the fan base/locker room.

HUH?

and you also spelled Kessel's name wrong 7 times.

any thoughts on Arcobello as a 3C, guys? 31(17+14) pts in 77 games. Pretty decent numbers for 600K.

I honestly had to google the name, never heard of him. How the heck did he go through four different teams last year?

Another source says Bruins are interested in #Blackhawks winger Bryan Bickell. Hawks would have to retain some salary in a deal there.

So, how much should we pay for Semin's homecoming?

Semin & Boyes both getting bought out ups the RW class.

Bringing Semin back would appease the Red Rockers bummed about losing Green.

Semin can come back, but for every goal he scores he gains 10 dollars, but every time he is on the ice for a goal he loses 20 dollars.

What are the odds Sweeney decides to pick up Semin for full price on waivers? He'd pretty much have to ship out Krejci or Bergeron to clear the cap space, right? :sarcasm:
