What a game by Nicola Robertson. This is the kid that all Fig fans say is better than Caufield. Queef thought so also and he rewarded him with 8 minutes of ice time.

How did they find such a gem? They should draft more like him. What a player!!! :biglaugh::biglaugh:
Why bring him up and play him for 8 minutes??? This is the type of time management that we criticize from our own coaches. Kid works hard, and his team sucked bad in the first.

Which brings me to the Foligno arrival...he's a valuable asset for sure. But on a team of stars, which ice time is he going to fill? Guy was the captsin of the BJ. He won't endure playing on a 4th line you know.

Campbell is better. The hamburgler was do bad in net...Campbell was a marvelous prospect at the U20 level. He never panned out. Maybe that's his chance. Maybe not. And msybe that's why the Figs got another sieve to back him up.
I can definitely attest to the hamburgler being bad. He was bad here in Binghamton up until being called up to Ottawa that year. It was a total shock how well he did for that single stretch.

I thought I read somewhere that Dallas didn't have a goalie coach at the AHL level so Campbell just floundered during those first years. Then he ended up in LA, which jump-started him putting it together.

Interresting stats in La Presse this morning (sorry, in french):

In sum, Danault's line totally neutralized Matthews line this season.

I know most here are going to disagree but we really need to re-sign Danault. He is the perfect complement to Suzuki and KK.

4-5yrs/ 4.5ish.. Get rid of Lehkonen,Armia,Byron these are all dime a dozen players that you can replace with Evans Perry and Poehling for 700k

There is no doubt about it, Phil is a perfect 3rd line centre, to shut down other top lines......gotta get him to accept a reasonable offer. Hope they can keep him between 4-5M they just can't go by 5M

Fun game. Nice to see the good versions of Tatar, Danault, and Byron back again.

Kotkaniemi is really progressing as a C. More faceoff wins, better vision and puck control. Give the kid quality wingers and the points will start coming. Also, he's got a good shot which has been underused.

Jake Allen had already earned his salary before Price was hurt. Habs wouldn't be in a playoff position without him.

My wife dislikes when I call Drouin "Useless". She thinks it's too harsh and mean spirited. So I hereby declare him "Superfluous". Yes dear...

One thing the coaches need to do with Kotkaniemi to open up his shooting game is that when he makes a support pass (small 5 foot pass to his line mate), he wants to get to the front of the net which is a fine option but it can't be the only thing you do.. he needs to hunt some open ice and be ready to one-time the puck or get a quick shot off.. there was one instance where he tried last night but Anderson chose a poor cross ice pass rather than the drop to KK.

These are the things the coaching staff, Staal and when Caufield gets up, need to help him learn because he can be a bigger force by hunting shooting opportunities.

Given this season's contracts with top-6 forwards, Danault doesn't have much leverage to ask for a premium. No amount of hype changes the fact that his comparables are closer to an upper-tier 3C.

You gotta thank your wife. She's pushing you to dig deep into your vocabulary and use appropriate synonyms.

Thanks. I was wondering about this exact thing last night (further evidence I need a life). A lot of the perception has been driven by the recent numbers – Leafs had been red-hot and the Habs had staalled. I won't predict the Habs' future, but there's a good chance the Campbell bubble pops and Toronto slides somewhat. Nothing against the goalie – I actually like him – but the mental pressure and overuse almost always catches up to goalies.

By the way, at this point in 2019/20 Montreal was two games into their second 8-game winless skid. They'd go 0-5-1 in their next 6 games. They currently have the same amount of points after 39 games as they did two years ago, in 2018/19.

Suzuki looked a lot better last night playing around 15 minutes, it is obvious he is fatigued and playing 18-19 minutes a game isn't helping him.

My wife and I were watching in the bedroom and when I saw Romanov's battle with the pornstache I yelled, "Yes! YES!!".

I'm pretty sure I creeped out my kids.

Well you're creeping the shit out of me now,I can only imagine your poor kids!

After watching that...I feel as if it’s only a matter of time before Romanov gets paired w Weber
