Haha. Hrudey looks like he spent the day at a spa. So relaxed after Lames win and Oilers pumped. Couple weeks ago he was bright red looking like his head was gonna explode

Sometimes getting humiliated by your bitter rival can be a good wake up call. Or getting shutout by an AHL calibre goalie. Need to be way better for this next stretch of tough games. Btw, these games are basically unwatchable with this PBP crew. Worst I’ve ever seen or heard in my life.

It always seems to do the opposite for this team though.

I’m probably wasting breath because this has been a problem for almost 10 years, but we have to stop with the lackadaisical starts that are complimented by refusing to shoot the puck. Under 10 shots in the first 6 games in a row is pretty telling. Lets the other teams goalie start to feel it, lets the other team get comfortable, and puts us in a position where we have to fight our way back into the flow of the game whether we’re leading or not.

The Kings had absolutely nothing going in the first 10 minutes of this game, then we decided to spend the two minutes on our power play standing around staring at each other. They got momentum off of that, we kept moping around the ice, then that was game. Had we even brought a 6/10 level of effort/focus instead of a 2/10 level of effort/focus we’re probably talking about a different game.

It's amazing how one team can seem to have no time or space at all, and the other one has plenty. It felt like we were playing a man down most of the game.

Kings played the hardest game of their lives. Oilers didn’t figure that out till too late. And when they attempted to battle back they did it with too much frustration and not enough poise.

But a running theme we’ve been seeing is that when the opposition goes full 110% effort they can even things up against us.

Like I said during the streak, there’s always room for improvement. We ain’t it yet. We still need to get better. 2 more additions and let’s see what we’re cooking with .

Bottom 6 was absent, McDavid was fighting the puck, Vinnie is not ready for top 4 minutes, at least not with Nurse as his partner.

Skinner was solid I thought. First one maybe he would want back.

Need to get back to focused, careful and disciplined hockey

Flush.

Outworked, outskilled and out system played tonight. Really no one looked good. Wasted opportunity to step on the neck of a playoff rival whose season was reeling. First line had a flusher after being an ice bender for most of this season. Fortunate to play one period to beat the lottery Ducks team. But zero energy or cohesion tonight in a real test. Reset.

Glad that we have a bottom 6 that won't hit, fight or score. It's amazing that PK specialists Janmark and Brown have 1,000,000 chances yet a guy like Gagner that could really boost our 2nd PP unit is a constant HS. Braindead move changing the D pairings the last game and continuing it for much of tonight.
That’s been every year since Holland has managed this team

The McLeod/Foegele/Holloway line has done absolutely nothing since they were put together. Time to get Gags in there and sit Holloway. He doesn't kill penalties or play PP, and is generating absolutely nothing, so let's get some offence in there.

And then playing mcdrai the last 5 minutes when it’s clear they aren’t coming back.

Honeymoon phase with this coach is running out quick.

Been a long time since he made a good decision

Very good point. I haven’t gave the bottom 6 much grief this season cause they win possession for the most part and Clouder and Foegey were looking good. But in games like this slightly higher xGF isn’t good enough. Need hits, need fights, need goals. Can’t have Connor gassing himself trying to do it all. This is a game that was a battlefield out there and half our forward core is either too weak or too chill to bring that battle.

That's a product of every man knowing the structure and straight up hustling

I don't think there is one player for us that can be proud of their effort. Maybe Kulak was the best of a sad group.

Kings now only 3 points behind with us only having one extra game, and we're not playing very well. Going to be a dogfight.
Holloway had some jump to my eye but still didn’t get much done. And yeah I thought kulak looked good.

But the rest. Dookie

Did anyone notice Foegele at all? I swear he goes completely MIA when we play physical opponents. Not enough fight in our team tonight. We are still too soft as a team and have too many guys that couldn't score with a hooker even with a pocket full of $100's.
