NY will obviously play much better in game 2, although an early goal by us in that game will carry more weight than usual. When is the last time we had a 2-0 lead in a series?

If the Isles don't solve their goaltending issues it won't matter what they do in front of the pipes.

Why must you bring up those series and trigger all of our PTSD like that?
Nothing I'm sure that hasn't already been said in the Lightning locker room. Hedman said it yesterday, to stay in the present and not look ahead. I don't know if that's what killed us in 16 and 18 where the team thought they had punched their ticket to the finals before the series was over, but I feel like this year is different that they won't let that happen. Brayden Point post game didn't want to take any glee over this win or his own personal success and that's the sign of a mature team.

Tyler Johnson stat line: 0G 0A 0P -1 in an 8-2 win, matches the eyetest well
I love how at the end of the game we had all our gritty players out there just in case the Isles try to stir something up...

... and Tyler Johnson.

Great game tonight. Motor running on all cylinders.

Prepare for a tougher game 2. No team likes to be embarrassed and their effort level will be high.

Just an observation but at 8-2 with not a ton of time remaining, I though it would have been a good spot to give McIlheny a few minutes of work.

Bolts win!
