I just never understood the Moore signing. There’s like 5 LHD and guys like Moore could be had for a mid round pick every year at the deadline. And to give him 5 years is stupidity.

Before this pre-season the D prospects were not looking very good. Combine that with the fact we have to resign McAvoy and Carlo soon with Krug going to get a big payday and we need someone to step in an take Krugs role if he goes FA. I think Sweeney was smartly covering his bases. If the kids on D were looking terrible right now everyone would be praising Sweeney.

For what he brings he's kind of a bargain. My personal opinion. Unless he severely under performs I don't foresee him being left unprotected.
