Seriously. How has Zach Bogosian become a legit impact player? His work and tenacity tracking down that breakaway was incredible. Of all the moves we've made, THAT could be the big one. Which makes me seriously chuckle out loud a bit.
This is where having a legitimately respected organization pays off. We're able to grab the reclamation projects and the one year guys to take a flier on.
Bogo, Shattenkirk, Maroon - we can finally win the low end FA battles for these guys on a cheap, short term deal and see who works out. Not that Bogo in particular was highly sought after - he's been a huge surprise. But it seems we've been at the top of the list for these guys more often than not lately.
They're not cornerstones, but depth is key and every once in a while you find a nice surprise.
