^Stu hasn't been a 'magnificent *astard' for a long time now.

Yep. Sorry if you're director of amateur scouting for seven drafts and utterly fail to produce even average role players out of the first round, you deserve to get canned. Instead we were reduced to trading for guys like Hendricks and Klinkhammer.

Well, Tobias Rieder turned out pretty good.

Thank god they god rid of their pro scouts.

I'm also not going to miss Stauffer's name dropping Stu as his old coach like 30 years ago

Head scouts, but this is step one. Before the start of next season, I expect new head scouts to start bringing in their own guys. When none of the pro scouts from the current team are left, I shall rejoice.

This wont be the only change Chiarelli makes to the management/scouting team. I imagine at some point in the next calendar year we'll see some guys from management let go too.

Does this mean we're done drafting overage BCHLers? Oh happy day

interesting that most war rooms are already up and running and the oilers do this. I think Chia-pet did not like how the reports were looking or something

There was a hint before about looking in different places and using different methods for scouting. Foreshadowing I guess. I guess they weren't looking hard enough for Chia's liking.

^i'll give him credit for that, and the fact that we have a few potential bottom end forwards and d-men coming up. but he's had since what 2008? when he was hired to find good 2nd, 3rd and 4th liners that can play for this team, and hasn't been able to do it. deserved to be gone sooner actually, as did the rest of them.

Hopefully they are done drafting both BCHLers and overagers.

What about Anton Lander?

Mixed emotions about Stu leaving. I always thought he was a good scout. That Jordan Eberle pick bought him a lot of time, but he hasn’t had a hit in a while. On the other hand, I’m very glad that the pro scouts are getting fired. They have missed a lot.

Not a surprise once bob Green took over as director of player personal and head of all scouting...both have been a part of a decade of suck

What about Anton Lander?

The blind squirrel found his nut? Even Lander looked more like a rock than a nut until last season.

For every minor success like Lander and Marincin, there's a Moroz, a Pitlick, a Marco Roy, a David Musil, and on and on. Far too many wasted picks, or trying to draft a specific role player. Absolutely no taking BPA when available.

I'd be willing to bet we'd have a better draft record after the first round if we taped player pictures to a dartboard, got MacT good a liquored, and let him throw.
