Can we just appreciate what this team is doing? Whenever Raymond and Vrana get back in the lineup, we have 4 legit scoring lines. And yet somehow the team defense is much improved with Sundqvist, Copp, and Rasmussen being the only traditional defensive forwards. I think we've struck something here.

You also thought he fumbled the puck over to Sunny on that 2on1 and then Sunny had the calculated trickshot off of Zadina into the open net.
That pass was deflected to Sunny's stick, so he got a bit lucky. Still a good play.

I thought Zadina protected the puck well against 2 defenders saw Suter coming and let him take the puck. He basically set a pick against 2 defenders, which left Suter wide open. Last season he would have cut to the middle and coughed it up to the second defender. He's not doing the same move that always fails, so it's a step in the right direction, and I thought it was a good play even if he did fumbled the puck.

Panthers down 6 to 3 and they pull the goalie with 7 min to go.
Now 8 to 3.

So they are 2 points ahead but we have 5 games in hand.

Remember when the Wings traded away a Karlsson in '96 and started winning? EK is not a foundational piece for a winner. A succeeds because he doesn't have to adhere to any kind of defensive structure.

Hard pass.
Interesting!? But you want Seider to play that game and not Lidstrom's game?

Panthers have not been great.
They say teams make trade to improve, but both flames and Panthers got worse.
Both teams lost the trade then.

I think we had a lot of luck last 5 games. It will change. But Seider and Raymond are getting into the groove, while Rasmussen and Veleno have improved.
So this team with 50 games under their belt is definitely an improved team. It will be interesting to see if the team is improved enough to make the playoffs.
Regardless whether we make playoffs or not, it might be very exciting hockey to the seasons end.

There is a multitude of defensive approaches between Coffey and Lidstrom. It's not a binary decision.
You don't want Karlsson because he makes risky plays, but then you want Seider to play that kind of game, Karlsson's game, not Lidstroms game. It is contradictory as it can be.

Not playing as conservative as Lidstrom is not advocating playing as reckless as Karlsson/Coffey. Your inability to recognize that there is a spectrum of defensive approaches speaks volumes.

Panthers lost.
NYI are down 1 to 0 vs Boston.
Pens play NJD at home and NJD have been the best road team in the league.
Caps play Canes and Canes are a top team.
It is a good chance all teams we are fighting for the playoffs spot lose tonight.

NYI down 3 to 0 after 1st.
So 1 team we are chasing lost and another on its way.
Pens scored vs NJD but NJD equalised.

With Pit/Fl/NYI losing, the Wings are essentially in a playoff spot with a win tonight consider the games in hand they have

Panthers lost, NYI down 6 to 1 after 2, so they should lose too, NJD lead 2 to 1 vs pens.

It’s looking like a perfect storm to put Detroit AND Buffalo in the playoffs.

Just watch, PIT and WSH end up 11th and 12th worst in the league and both win the lotto for a Bedard/Michkov draft. I’d cry if that happened.
