This weekend is supposed to be even worse. I do enjoy a good sweat from time to time.

First golf scramble coming up this weekend in the 100 degree weather. Idk why it took me this long to join one but it wasn't wisely chosen. I'll care more about shade than winning.

I just broke 90 for the first time Sunday with an 88, 45 front 43 back. Very impressed with myself. Back to my usual 96 today.

Does anyone have any pics of the old 1930-31 Philadelphia Quakers Sweaters (Jerseys).

Also since it's the 50th anniversary season for the Flyers franchise, would it be a good idea if the Flyers used the throwback original Sweaters (Jerseys) of the Quakers from the 1930-31 season not just for the 50th anniversary of the Flyers, but as a celebration of NHL hockey in Philadelphia for one game.

I was just thinking if other teams are acknowledging their traditions and using their old Sweaters why shouldn't the Flyers do so as well even though the Flyers and Quakers have nothing to do with one another, but they do have a history of hockey in Philadelphia.

I've been shooting well this summer. I shot an 87 & 88 previously and then blew up with a 96. It pisses me off when I shoot great cause when I don't hit that again I rage.

Looking for a new iron set soon. Anyone get any irons recently that they like? So far it's been ping and Wilson at my top.

I played a lot in my month off in June. I hadn't broken 100 before June but now since I played so much I'm in the 85-89 range

I had Wilson irons for about 20 years (I'm 35 now) and I bought Taylormade RS1 irons at a Boxing Day sale (day after Christmas is a big shopping day with various discounts in Canada).

It took me a bit to get used to the new set, but they're great. Interestingly, though, I lost a bit of distance from my Wilsons.

Hmmm, were the clubs fitted and set up for your size and swing?

I hit the new Wilson Pro Staff (I think $500-700) and they were beyond smooth. I was hitting 170 yards with a 7 iron according to the shops virtual thing. Best part was everything felt solid and my slice was very forgiving. He even preferred them over the Pings.

 No, I'm a bit old school when it comes to picking my clubs. It's why I haven't even bought clubs in 20 years.

I just hit a whole bunch at Golf Town over a few sessions and picked the clubs that felt best.

For their 50th anniversary, i cant imagine they would choose to represent a team not associated with them and also from 85 years ago

Lol that could possibly be some of the issue . I really hate picking up a club and getting that 'awkward' feel while swinging.

Yea I just recently bought this set a few months back. Went to Golf Galaxy in Voorhees and hit a bunch of different irons. I had a set of Titleist that I really felt comfortable with but they were way out of my price range. I had Callaway irons before that, and these felt really nice too so I went with them. I did not enjoy ANY of the Taylormade Irons I picked up. I don't really know why but I just could not hit them at all. I use their drivers/woods pretty exclusively.

So luckily there was somewhat of a breeze going today. Regardless, I played my first scramble and came away with 1st place out of 8 teams.

We ended up shooting a 65 on the day. Putting is where it counts. They weren't the best golfers but I got some goodies and cash out of it! :)
