You draft BPA, then you trade to fill needs down the road.
Maximize the quantity of assets, then maneuver to get the most out of those assets.
Yeah, I remember times GMs drafted to fill needs, before BPA sometimes. Obviously no one let a McDavid go by to fill there right D needs, but you get the point. I'm sure some GM's still have this semblance of thinking. And really I was more talking about the winger stuff. D is important for sides, centers should play center, wingers...meh...might matter a bit for breakouts from your zone, besides that, it don't matter, especially with cycling game being played now. Some wingers like playing off wing...Wingers could be all over offensive zone.

When was the last time this team got the most value out of an asset?
When trying to think about flyers making a smart move and buying low on solid player or selling high on someone who over performed, literally only player that comes to mind is Coburn.
