I really like this Evander Kane too. He actually looks like he's having fun out there, even smiling and offering encouragement at times. If he can turn the corner I dont want him going anywhere.

Yes, also known as 'a change'.

That's perfectly within the normal change area, and as long as the player coming on doesn't touch it before 38 gets off, it's fine.

With the officiating I saw, I'm hardly surprised they missed it.

Which doesn't matter. As long as the player coming off the ice is within 5 feet of the bench, and is no longer an active participant in the play, he's considered off the ice.
