JVR has 9 points in his last 10 games. Also had 6 points in 5 games and a +6 under Gordon.

Also under Gordon:

Provy 23:48
Sanheim 20:12
Ghost 19:57
Gudas 18:09
AMac 17:40
Hagg 17:16
Gordon sucks as an X’s and O’s coach but that is such a relatively small part of the job. Deployment has a much larger impact on outcomes. The last guy was too stubborn to ever figure out what wins in this league. You also have be able to communicate with players and let them know where they stand and you know reward them with ice time when they play well, not just punish them for mistakes.

While that timeline doesn't guarantee he didn't suffer a concussion, it sure does line up better with an arm/side injury which also happens to be exactly what it looked like when he collided with Palat in the 2nd period. The way some people immediately assume any UBI is a concussion is super annoying. If you ever played sports you should know there are all sorts of other ways you can get hurt above the waist.
I thought it was a shoulder or arm injury as well.

I know I have said this before, but I have seen more clips of Gordon talking to players than I did in all the Hak years combined.

I know this is more rhetorical than anything, how does such a person even land a top tier league coaching gig? Especially from a guy who seemingly had a very long term idea of what to do (but sucked at "today" changes)

On paper, this should be a relatively easy win if they bring the same energy against TB.

Speaking of which, shoutout to all the people who said Sanheim couldn't handle more time!

Looking pretty dumb right now.

Also, don't forget that some people also said that Giroux couldn't handle the responsibilities of playing center anymore.

I don't think everybody's favorite hippie has even posted in the past week. It's been blissfully essay-free. A gift, nay, a miracle just in time for the holidays.

Maybe he's just on an extended acid flashback.

They struggled with Florida’s neutral zone trap last time. It’ll be interesting to see if they handle it better or keep trying to force plays through it.

Florida playing mtl. A win for them there is likely good for us on several levels.

Price is on IR. Boston continues to have injuries. Hopefully we can sneak in and catch Tampa first round and cause an upset. They fire their coach and then we get him. Boom!

Yeah, CLEARLY Giroux can't play center anymore, as was PROVEN by his two years of declining production, which COULDN'T have been the injury.

They tried to mock me for refusing to give Hakstol credit for the Giroux-to-wing move because my argument was that he should have given Giroux a chance at C once he was finally healthy, to see if he could still do it (after all, he's move valuable to us as a C if he could still play there). Apparently that was absurd of me to think, since Giroux had a career year at wing, which was all thanks to Hakstol for saving his career!

And yeah, I guess he must be furious that the team hasn't imploded without Hakstol. He wanted them to crash and burn so badly.

Well over 50% of the blame should go to the ***** who instituted the oh-so-secretive U/LBI press release system.

It was constructed due to the belief that, especially in playoffs, if teams released specific injuries then opposing players would take advantage. Media dislikes it in addition to some of the public because injuries are not specified as openly as in the past. Whether the original suspicion has been reduced or not, is open to conjecture; however, it is almost universally panned in his current form.

Giroux is playing so well now it's honestly hard to envision him ever being moved back.

It was good that he played LW on Coots' line for one year though, just to firmly establish that Coots is an elite 1C himself.

The players are also going to listen and play harder once any coach is fired because they know that the crosshairs are put on them now. This team has a tendency to play better under those circumstances regardless of who is the new coach. Just look at the improvement in play after the switch from Laviolette to Berube. These guys must really fear being traded.

I mean, the team was imploding under Hakstol. You can’t really implode an implosion.
