Is anybody concern we aren’t seeing much movement yet?

Mac still plays. Weise still in. Oskar still on 4th line. Patrick with plugs, now acting like one.

This team seems to have really mixed up priorities.

Yep, Fletcher sucks. Gordon not much better.

Besides a new wind in effort and some system changes, there’s not much different in the lineup save Sanheim playing more. Who, from what we understand, was Wilson’s call.

So what’s changed besides hak-free effort?

The Panthers have a similar record and are playing inconsitent but exciting hockey.
That game will be about executiong and doing the small things right.

Hart is the only big roster change so far. Varone replacing Lehtera and Weal is a minor one.

But Fletcher could make himself into a hero with just one or two key moves... hopefully they are coming before the All Star break.

Well, just as we had to be patient about Fletcher firing Hakstol, we have to be patient with Gordon making bigger lineup changes.

It's not like Gordon was sitting here on HF reading about how much we all hate Andrew MacDonald and Dale Weise for the last 4 years, he's been coaching an AHL team full-time. He's had 5 games (and even fewer full practices than that, actually) to work with the team, so it's not like he's gotten a full evaluation of every player and been able to implement a whole new system.

Gordon might also, unfortunately, have a mild fondness or familiarity with MacDonald, having coached him back in New York when he was younger/not as horrible, and then briefly in Lehigh Valley where he probably looked alright compared to the competition...

...BUT, he did bench MacDonald for the last 12 minutes of the game against Columbus after a particularly terrible sequence early in the final period (Weise also didn't play the final 13 minutes of that one).

Last night he did a ton of line juggling up front with Patrick getting hurt, and even went mix-and-match with the defense well into the 3rd. This coach is still trying things out and getting to know the roster, but he doesn't seem to be repeating the same awful mistakes over and over again yet, and bad players are being held accountable at times.

As with everything else, things take time.

Off topic but our stadium giveaways are absolutely embarrassing compared to some of the other giveaways around the NHL

Seeing today's matchups [MTL-FLA; OTT-NYI]; I've said it before and I'll say it again - the current NHL point system is stupid. We shouldn't be hoping for no OT in these games. Under European point system it would be the opposite - situation where there is no regulation winner, so no one is good enough to beat the opposition in 60mins, is a good scenario for the chasing team (in this case - Flyers). I know it goes both ways (PHI OT wins count the same as regulation wins) but this still seems very, very wrong overall. /end of rant

Better than I thought.

While that timeline doesn't guarantee he didn't suffer a concussion, it sure does line up better with an arm/side injury which also happens to be exactly what it looked like when he collided with Palat in the 2nd period. The way some people immediately assume any UBI is a concussion is super annoying. If you ever played sports you should know there are all sorts of other ways you can get hurt above the waist.
