Last night he looked like he did in preseason. It's awful to watch.
It's a shame Kase had to play with an ECHLer.
Just another game where we can’t score
Stewart isn't a NHL player, but when you get down to #15 or so, what do you expect?
As soon as Pitlick got his legs back, Stewart was glued to the bench
It's not like the guy who'd replace him would be any better, real players don't sign to sit on the bench for 60 games (barring a streak of injuries).
So if it wasn't Stewart, it would have been a career AHL veteran, think of any RWs who qualify? We saw Varone and Knight last season. Gabriel?
Of all the AHL callups, Twarynski and Andreoff were the best but both are LWs, Kase has flashed but also has a xGF of 30.46% so far, Vorobyev had one good game then back to meh. Bunnaman, meh. Probably time to give NAK another crack or even Laberge, running out of suitable bodies.
Kase is just an AHLer himself.

TK should be back next week, Raffl in a couple more weeks, Laughton and Pitlick?
This was going to be a tough road trip in any case, just made tougher by an unfortunate string of bad luck. Once they get these four back they can roll 4 lines again, and the AHL kids will have more experience.
Watching Frost and Farabee, they're going to be good, but right now their lack of strength is obvious and a real handicap, makes it hard for them to finish plays. Frost is learning that the windows are smaller and NHL players are more physical, a little bump and he's knocked off stride. Farabee is gutsy but stupid, he got creamed in that fight. He's getting knocked around like a pinata, but gets right back up. But he gets separated from the puck too often, he's got to understand that a lot of his moves around the net won't work until he adds 20 lbs of muscle. Kase has similar issues.
Is there really a big difference between Stewart this year and Knight/Bailey last season? They were just as ineffective.Any AHL veteran is superior to an ECHL player. Fletcher's obsession with filling a role, and insisting on having Stewart has been pure idiocy.

I'm sure Stewart could've played in the AHL last season if he really wanted to. For some reason he chose England.
He was a bottom six quality player in England. It's hard to understate how bad he is.
I'm sure he was motivated to work out intensely and give it his all, given the high salaries paid in that league.
The Flyers have a lot more faith in themselves than you do.
